The EASIEST way I know to catch a Limit of flounder!!
In this episode I head out kayak fishing the upper gulf coast for flounder. I fished this rock jetty for flounder and almost instantly started hooking on these fish with one of the best baits for flounder the Hoodwink! Shark fest in St. George last week off beach. They were catching some Matt s around Sikes pass. Not me. I wouldn't even go in that dirty water . Saw too many fins close to beach. Big sandbars an blacktops.

I'd love for you to do a "seminar" style vid on the types of areas and depths you look for to locate flounder. I'm based out of Charleston SC so our estuary is a little different than yall's but any information would be wonderful! I mostly catch trout and flounder are by-catch for me but they are my FAVORITE fish to eat. My PB Flounder is 18" out of Charleston on a finger mullet.

I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Pascagoula, My PB as of today is a 25-1/2” “Doormat”!!! I should have mounted her! Caught her fishing around the old east bank Ingalls shipyard at night for Specks. 10lb Trilean Green big game mono. 1/8 lead head ( no color) using a split tails sparkle, beetle, “Smoke”… Ted 🕷️

I make a jig head specific for flounder with a khale hook.. heard you saying you missed a few and you were lucky to catch one as the point of your hook never penetrated.. these heads would up your game.. pb flounder 30 1/2 inches .. came out to 13.9 pounds.. ft pierce fl

From just north of Pittsburgh, PA. My PB, and only, flounder fell from a pier when I was 8yrs old because the knot my dad tied failed. I never saw the fish, but he did. I joked that I would put that on his headstone, but in the end, I didn't - he was a great dad. But I have consistently failed to nail a flounder since that day in 1989. I think my old man is just messing with me from beyond - he would do that...and I would find it funny.

St John's River, Haulover Canaĺ, Intercoastal waterways were some of our home stompin' grounds. Shrimping was absolutely a fun thing to do, if you can stay warm during the nìght! 😁

@southernsalt Our flounder fishery is strict and has been many years now. Pretty much flounder season is open only 2 weeks out of the year for rec. Fishing. And if I remember correctly, minum size is 16" or 17" and no slot. Many are caught here bigger than that every year. Mostly in the late summer and fall times.

I'm from Bay City Texas. Home waters is Matagorda Tx. Biggest flounder I've caught was 28 1/4 inches. But we catch 24-26 inchers all the time. Best kept secret in Texas. I fish the same style as yourself. But, all my big flounder came from walking the banks with a rod and reel. I always pack light because most of the time it's super easy to get your limit. I have spots that you can film on. Come get some of this action

Great catching and video, but the hooks on your jig heads seem to be dull as a butter knife. Lots of lost and barely hooked fish due to no hook penetration. I’m still jealous of all those flounder though!
