omg I knew #3 wasn't a Northerner! He overdid the "er" when he was reading out the list of words. I thought #5 might have been from a relatively Southern part of Northern China or something, since I'm not really familiar with the regional accents there. The only one I was absolutely sure was a Northerner was #4. He really has that casual drawl and Northern attitude.

@@noobestofdamall Because some of us just suck at written Chinese and find it much easier writing in English. Speech wise, it is relatively easy to pick out the different accents, especially when one have to speak to people from all around China on a daily basis.

@@syke76 I mean, you actually have native Chinese in the comments saying they couldn't figure out who were faking it. And you're saying people who aren't even proficient enough in the language to write about it on such a simple topic can distinguish between these accents better?
Australian abc here! My mother is from southern China (Fujian) and dad is northern (Jilin) My initial guess is no1 and no3 *edit got one right but I wasn’t expecting no5. I knew their accent wasn’t strong enough for shengyang but I thought it was normal since she looked quite young so maybe there is some modern day China influence..
