Usually other people (non-cosplayers) give us the "cool story bro" reaction when we say these things, which we actually do say on a regular basis. We would have made this video earlier but WONDERCON IS A MERE MONTH AWAY AND THERE IS COSPLAY TO BE DONE.

I got really peeved when I purchased the correct amount of fabrics for the patterns I bought and when I finished cutting out the tunic pieces I saw the sleeves... And well.. The sleeves are 25" by 21"... I don't even have enough for one. I have like no money for buying fabric too XD

That last one just happened yesterday . _." Still haven't found it...

And if you make skits, a regular one you hear is "The things I do for cosplay!" xD Chest binding, death defying stunts that will look freaking awesome on camera if done right but are not recommended for the viewers to try (xD), being forced to eat or work with something disgusting for a hilarious skit (eg hot sauce and toothpaste like we did in one vid), and the list goes on and on xD

Save the fabric scissors!! Using fabric scissors for anything but fabric honestly ruins them though. Then you have to resharpen them, and they're never the same again..

Stuff that's being said about wigs and contacts: That's why if I decide to cosplay, I don't use contacts, and for the hair that I need for a character, I just use my natural hair and shampoo out hair coloring, and hair gel if I need to lol.

Wigs are a huge pain and they are expensive (well... the ones with actual quality) that's why when I cosplay I only cosplay as girls with brown long hair. (it's so common and I don't have to barely spend any money. Unless i'm paying some one to curl it)

I'm doing my first cosplay ever soon for my first ever con (wish I could have started younger than I am but my mom thought it was weird and I had to convince her that my behavior wasn't actually that abnormal) and I'm sort of freaking out about it... I mean, I think it'll be easy since I don't have to make any of the clothes, and the teeth will be easy, but since I'm doing fem Sollux Captor from Homestuck I'm worried about the skin color and horns... I have good instructions on each, but I'm just worried :/ Also kind of worried about the wig, since I don't have a thing to fix it on... I guess I'll just try my best! I'm definitely a perfectionist though, so anything sub-par just will not do :/

I'm sorry if it's to late, but an easy way to do horns is to use model magic. It doesn't really matter what face paint you use, as long as it isn't too cheap. USE FINAL SEAL OR POWDER you and others will regret it.
