Man, I have been watching your videos for a few days now and I have started to admire you. You seem so calm, knowledgeable, skilled, kind, and generous. The best of all is that you know how to do all those things already at a young age! You are proof that the rush most of us live in is so unnecessary and a waste of life. I hope your videos will reach wider audiences because they are so useful, interesting, and informative. I would gladly come to learn from you in person. Thank you for doing this. Greetings from Croatia.

Beautifully done. I thought you were going to make the type with the strap. Those used to be the shoes my Mom bought for me as a child. Then we stopped being able to find them. Some very happy memories with those shoes, shopping with my Mom, and how delightful those stores were. Those shoes are still gone from the stores. They were an export product, and I guess there was gradual less demand, as people wanted to get western shoes and fit in. I used to see the older ladies with their hands behind their back, a sturdy dark cotton outfit, and those shoes on their feet. I'm in Canada, and it was a big deal to finally be able to bring wives over after so many years of horrible separation and hardship. Anyway, thank you for the video.

Those videos are master piecies, how could he manage to do all of those techniques! Even in ancient time, every family may just manage 1 technique and they need to go though generations to manage just 1 like family traditional one. He is genius one!
Yes, Vans shoes were inspired by traditional Chinese shoes. The company's co-founder, Paul Van Doren, was born in the United States to Italian immigrant parents, but he was fascinated by Chinese culture and design. In the 1960s, he traveled to China and was inspired by the traditional Chinese shoe style, known as "zhī xiě jiǎo" or "slip-on shoes." Van Doren incorporated elements of this design into the classic Vans slip-on shoe, which was first released in 1977. The shoe's simple, comfortable design, and the elasticated tongue, were influenced by traditional Chinese shoes. Vans has continued to draw inspiration from Chinese culture and design in its subsequent shoe designs, incorporating elements such as Chinese characters, motifs, and colors into its shoes. Today, Vans is a popular brand worldwide, and its shoes are known for their comfort, durability, and stylish designs, which reflect the company's cultural exchange and inspiration.

Wow, that’s great! 🤩 Thank you for sharing the inspiration of Vans shoes. I always thought Vans shoes were distinctive, but never knew the cultural story behind them. As a Chinese, I am happy to see Chinese brands and designs influencing world-famous shoe brands. And yes, Paul Van Doren’s love and respect for Chinese culture is admirable, he is able to skillfully integrate the elements of traditional Chinese shoes into modern shoes, and this cross-cultural innovation is very commendable. I also expected they can continue incorporate Chinese elements ☺️ Today, Vans has become one of the most sought-after brands in the world, I believe it is this respect and integration of different cultures that makes them stand out in the global marketplace. Look forward to Vans will continue to bring more wonderful designs in the future, also let us witness the exchange and collision of different cultures together!

I didn't know but looking at the classic Vans, it makes sense.

Did you just fantasize that or did you use AI? This is some #1 BS. Paul van Doren was born in the US, as son of DUTCH parents. The name 'VANS" is directly related to his last name VAN DOREN. He never travelled to China, but worked his way up in the local shoe factory and finally started his own shoe factory with his brother. The slip-ons that look a little bit like these, were only introduced in 1982. Stop smoking crack.

Thank you so much for the translations!👍🏼😸 I would like to make some of those shoes for myself. With the translations, I can actually follow along. I've always wanted to learn the techniques for making my own shoes & clothing from scratch, using natural materials. Have you ever considered writing a book about this: creating clothing and other household wares from traditional Chinese methods? (You can publish online very inexpensively!) I love to learn how people made things before the Industrial Revolution. China has such an old and rich cultural heritage. There are many regions in China and each has it's own techniques for making various traditional products. I have so many questions! #1. What part of China are you from? #2. Is the lovely place in your videos your home? #3. Are the things you make, and the techniques you use, from a particular region and/or time in history? #4. How did you learn these skills? Were you taught by family? At school? From books or internet? Thank you for your kind attention to my questions! I will have more questions but this is a good start. Many viewers would like to hear/read your answers, too. You are very talented and your viewers can learn so much from you, as well as be entertained! I truly appreciate your efforts in creating such beautiful items, documenting the creative process, and uploading it all to KZbin! May health and good fortune follow you everywhere on your journey through life.
