I dont think anyone in their right mind would be expecting Elaine to win this race coming off her injury plagued season that wreaked havoc with her ability to train. All I am hoping for is a decent performance in her quest to get back on top for Paris.

I think Sha'Carri is going to dominate for a long time. Shes young, talented and grown so much in just a few years. Now she has the experience, not just in winning but trials & tribulations and how she has overcome them. She looks and feels like a generational champion and shes proving it one race at a time. She represents the new era of runners and shes bringing new excitement to the sport. I got my money on Sha'Carri no matter whos in the race.

Sha'Carri is very buff now looking like lebron James. I'm scared she will get caught on steroids. Marijuana is a masking agent to cover them Roids...swollen upper body has nothing to do with speed just a result of steroids. The rest of them ladies look soft and feminine. ShaCarri was looking feminine just a few months ago and wasn't running this fast. Smh we are smarter than that.

I love the Jamaican sprinters, but so many of their fans get freaked out when another country's runner knocks them off. Jackson and Fraser-Price showed incredible class after being nipped at the line by Richardson at the Worlds. Fans need to chill. It is not life nor death, but a reasonable competition.

Both of these ladies are dope. Let's just hope they're both in top form at the Olympics and maybe Flo Jo's (God rest her soul) record will finally be broken. It would be so awesome, if after 25+ years of not being touched, both SR and ETH break it at the Olympics. THAT would be unforgettable. As for this upcoming race, I predict neither of them will break 10.7, with Thompson shaking off the rust and Richardson likely in recovery mode from the world championships.

I agree with you but a lot of people didn't believe that Sha'Cari could put it together when it counted. She proved them wrong. Some people even believed that Shericka had slowed down right at the end and let Sha'Cari win in those previous races. On social media a lot of people thought that the Jamaican sprinters were setting her up only to crush her in the finals. A lot of people just didn't think that she had a shot.

Well, that is hating to another level. I watched the races carefully and SJ was clearly straining at the effort but got smoked. The reason why a lot of people did not have Sha’Carri as the favorite is because they believed that she didn’t have the mental toughness to compete against the Jamaicans. They thought that because it was her first world champs, she was going to be too scared. They thought that she “ran her rounds backwards” and that they wouldn’t have enough left to run a good time in the finals. They thought that she wouldn’t get out fast enough and not be able to catch Talou SAFP and Shericka. Also Shericka’s 10.65 made her a lot of people’s favorite, as well as SAFP’s championship mentality. I’ve always rooted for Sha’Carri so this isn’t me bashing her or anything, but just giving insight as to why a lot of people didn’t have her as their pick to win.

They spoke so much Ill of her, but she still doesn’t listen to the negative and still show up and represent. I know she’s coming back deadly come Paris 2024. Elaine is such a strong and determine woman, imagine being the fastest woman alive over 100m, didn’t make the team due to injuries and parting ways with her coach. Came to run and was left off the team in the finals. But here she is competing against the best. She’s doing it confidently, even though the odds are against her. I love her so much. Although I’m Jamaican and I’m happy that Danielle Williams won the championship , I’m kinda wondering what instructions Morrison coach gave her? 12.20 heats, 12.33 semi and the rest is history. What was she and her coach thinking? It’s called saving energy for the final.

These two are absolutely my fav runners. I am not going to ever rule out Elaine and I will always root for my girl, Sha Carri. She and Gabby will just keep getting faster . And Sha Carri and could challenge Flo Jo's record. But, it is Elaine who reminds me most of Flo Jo in many ways. The late Flo Jo will always be my all time favorite runner.

Sha'Carri is similar to Noel Lyles and is very rare in that, the farther they run the faster their speed increase. When others are slowing down, they're speeding up. Even if they are the last out of the blocks, if the race is long enough, they will run everyone else down and win the race.

Can someone explain why in a 4x100 women can clock splits of 9.7 etc for example. but in 100m they are running 10.5+? Is it because they can run faster without having to do the starting blocks, or is the 4x100 not a true 100m?

Yes in the 100 m you start from 0 mph and takes longer to reach top speed. In the 4x100 you already standing and running in stride so it won’t take as long to reach your top speed. Also the person behind you is running some meters for you as they won’t count their split to they already have the baton and moving.

For what it worth! I noticed that no one mentioned how Sha'carri got smoked in the 200 meters. If she is in shape so much into, then how did she missed out on the double. Sha'carri beats Shericka in the 💯 meter dash, but was smoked by Shericka in the 200 meters.. When Elaine's in top shape. She always takes the double.

@thaidukharran8258 no one expected that shacarri would win the 200 and the fact she medaled stunned most!! Even Elaine in tiptop condition has never ran sherikas time in the 200m . Shericka is the fastest woman alive and the second fastest time to flojo of all time. Elaine has the fastest time in the 100m and only second to flojo.
