@@ede3237 Japan has no bachelor groups but they could start one with Monta, Genaro and Kiyomasa .. it sounds easier than it is .. I know because it’s a process integrating Gorillas and there are several great groups in Europe but since it’s not a European country I’m not sure if that’s even possible.

@@redlipstickmafia well, true but they can’t just pack him up and move him. They have to consider a lot. It has to be a positive move for him and not simply to just get him away from Shabani. Ai is on birth control and Kiyomasas behavior is completely normal. But yes, I do think they need to think about his future which I’m sure they are. They know what they’re doing.

Shabani the most photographed gorilla in the world doesn't get any love from his so-called wives. The females give their love to Kiyomasa. It is difficult for Shabani to discipline Kiyomasa because Kiyomasa is the only one that gives Shabani affection. This situation is frustrating & heart breaking for Shabani.

This zoo will not step up and do right by these gorillas. ever. Not even when Shabani has to seriously hurt Kiyomasa in order to protect the Nene and the other females and himself. ​​@@ellenknell9645yes. They do break up families like that. This is supposed to be a breeding program. If that isn't working then they are supposed to make changes. Unfortunately there aren't many gorillas in Japan that they can trade with, and a lot of other countries wont send animals to Japan. That is the real reason. Also, they said a couple years ago that ai was no longer on birth control. And a year or so ago she started to mate with her brother, I would say its time for her to go. Sooner or later shabani is going to get violent with her if she is no use to him.

Kiyo has got to go! Inbreeding between brother and sister is an awful thing to imagine but if he stays it’s going to happen. If she’s on birth control fine, no babies, but still. Mating between siblings can’t be good for them. In the wild Kiyo would long be banished. The dynamics are growing very odd between the group. Kiyo’s hormones have to be raging and it could result in some real violence with Shabani. I hope the zoo is working on something.

The three females in that troop are likely on contraception; this is routine for female gorillas in zoos now, if they live with any males the zoo doesn’t want them to get pregnant from. Or, if they just don’t want any pregnancies at that particular time.

AI is starting to appeal to male gorillas, could we see a new addition soon?. AI is attracted to Kiyamosa because he is so gentle. On the other hand shabani likes to play by wrestling using his weight and as a result AI is hesitant. Shabani must learn to be soft and gentle like Kiyamosa. Either way this family will last longer than most as their relationship has a nice balance.
