The word "Gol" that Mr Zaidi is saying comes from Faisalabad's wholesale markets in the Ghanta Ghar area. The architecture of the area is in circles around Ghana Ghar (click tower). These circles "gols" are divided by commodities. There is a Saabun Gol (soap). There is a sooter gol (yarn) and so on. The trading here is done on cash and iou's which is out of the tax net. This gol trades links across the country to Karachi's wholesale markets and Lahore's Shah Alam market. Government is fully aware of it.
