Lovely page. A tip for those who don't have distress ink is to use coffee. I would use a sponge. Like dry brushing, don't have it really wet, and dab or rub areas lightly to "age". Experiment on scrap paper first to get the technique down before doing your journal page. Layering it in thin applications can give nice results also. TFS Tina. Hope you have a great day. 😁

Oh thank you so much Donna, great idea for using the coffee, and fantastic description of the technique x
@donnaswisher84083 жыл бұрын
@@shabbydabbydoodah thanks Tina. Hope it is helpful. Coffee died paper is great, but sometimes you just want darker edges or darker marks scattered around the page. Also another tip for newbies is shoe polish. They may have some already. The liquid is easy to use. I still use it even though I have actual inks. I use brown and black the most but have used white shoe polish on medium to dark colored papers. 😁

Tina this is fabulous! I would never have thought to use paint. I'm honestly gonna have to start a notebook of all these awesome ideas. Thank you and have a blessed day 💕.

Hi Tina, love this page. Again, I live the books you are using. We have a 5 gallon bucket of cream colored paint, that is almost full, that is left over from when we primed all of the walls in our house. I’m going to get that out and start using it. I think I have enough to do a few journal pages 🤣. I can’t wait to go shopping with you tomorrow !! Hugs 🤗

Gorgeous pages, i love the gladioli belly band and the cute fairy! I thought I'd try your dry wipe thing out and it's actually made quite a good 'fabric ' for the mini art dress I'm making. Oooh, Tina! Shopping!! Magic word! 😆 and I've never been to the range. What a brilliant 💡idea! Looking forward to that. Thank you 💖
@shabbydabbydoodah3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for saying what flower it was on the belly band, I am awful with my botanical knowledge!! Lol. Great idea for the wipe as fabric for your mini art dress, I can see how it would work great. I love the Range, it's my go to place for craft things, other than Amazon x

Loving this series Tina, could listen to you chatting away all day, like an old friend over coffee, and as for the shopping trip, I can’t wait..absolutely love The Range, don’t think I could go in there and limit myself to £20 though lol. I live very near to Hobbycraft, but find them very expensive, so prefer to shop in The Range. Xx
@shabbydabbydoodah3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Heather. Yes I love the Range, it is my go to place for craft supplies (other than Amazon), like you say it is so much cheaper than Hobbycraft. Hope you're doing great and have had a good week x

Oh fun, can't wait to go shopping with you to see the different things you get in the UK from what we get here in the US. Dollar Tree in the US is a great source for crafts and office supplies, ribbons, etc where everything is only a $1

Thank you Robin, I really hope you enjoy our shopping trip. We have a shop called Poundland, everything is £1, but they have only a very teeny amount of craft supplies x

Gorgeous pages 🥰 I've started gluing my pages in my altered book after trying to get the old smell out 🤭 It still smells, but if I use a bit coffee in my gesso, I guess it will be ok 🤞 I'm not any good to do a collage , so I was thinking to do the #cwplanner 2021 ♥️ Have a great day and looking forward to the next video and the shopping 💷

I had an older book that had a bit of an older book smell too! I used chocolate flavored coffee for dying those pages and that seemed to help with the smell! Haha...it also made me want chocolate flavored coffee every time I opened the book!!!
