Shade Grow Tunnel Quick DIY - Ready for Food Crops

About This Video:
The new shade-cloth/shade-net food tunnel is done. Check out how we assembled it, with very little effort and at almost no cost. Protecting food crops out here against insects, birds, wildlife and our own goats and sheep is key to, well, eating!
This video is part 1 of the food plot story. Part 2 should be out soon and cover the seedlings/transplants and strategies we plan to take to amend, feed, grow and water them in this harsh desert environment.

Great solution for a shade tunnel with the materials on hand. Building within your budget is always a challenge - but you seem to do a good job of minding the budget. If 20% shade cloth is not enough, add another layer when screaming hot temperatures come around again. Also, if this turns out to be too small, it is a simple matter to extend the length with the same construction system you used. I do like the use of stone. It is abundant on the land, removing rocks from your pasture makes them more usable. They are great for moderating temperature swings. In your climate, I don't think you need a foundation. So if you make a wall two layers thick you can stack them with mortar. Sorry - I went off on a tangent. I like rocks as a building material 😊 I suppose collecting them with the intent of using as a building material might be a good idea! All the best 😉
