Driving in winter ❄️ especially in Nordic countries is a true magical experience,I drove 5000km and covered all the Lapland area which is stretched across three countries and yes that was an experience of a life time that one should experience and yes it is extremely cold and more cold than mainland Europe,luckily I managed to start the car even in -23’C .Im watching your Lapland series and it just refreshed my holiday memories.thanks and good work

Amazing, magical, magnificent and excellent road trip to artic. Entire distance is loaded with snow, misty weather with such a jovial lady driver of 64 years made your journey more interesting and not bored. One of the best drone video of such a picturesque region took us to a fantasy tour which reminds the fairy tales of our childhood days. You both are the witness in reality but equally we enjoyed as much you enjoyed the journey, it's seemed better than your Iceland tour. Driving conditions in the video were nearly ideal for winter time. Really good, barely any loose snow on the road and mostly hard compacted snow or ice which gets roughened by studded tires. Coldness increases traction too, not slippery at all with proper winter tires, studs or not. Driving at regular 100km/h speed limit is not risky. Could be worse so many ways, mostly when weather gets warmer around 0C. For drivers cold weather is the best friend in winter. Preheating is longer but that's only con. Here's a few examples of really bad driving conditions. - Heavy snowing in the dark. Can't see anything in front of the car except white wall. Also road might disappear if snow is not actively removed(outside 1st class main roads) and only signs of road are red snowplow markings with reflector tape. - Freezing rain. Probably one of the worst things, supercooled rain droplets instantly freezing on contact. Glazes everything including windshield with ice so you can't see anything. If windshield is not heated, you probably have to stop every 5-10km to scrape it. Blasting hot air in the cabin(to windshield) is hardly effective, might get small spots cleared. Fortunately this happens only when weather conditions are very specific so it's quite rare. - Very cold weather turning quickly warm(just above 0C) and then it starts to rain(lightly). Compacted snow and ice melts a bit on top and rain adds liquid water on top of it. On bare asphalt rain first freezes on contact and then wets it. It's like having oil on plastic sheet. Extremely slippery, even walking is difficult. Sanding trucks are very active in those conditions, otherwise cars without studded tires will slide to ditches or crash.

As a person who lived in Canada and drove in the northern climates. I would not advise first time drivers from India to drive in ice and snow. Some skills required to drive safely in such weather.
