Painting with brushes? Do you have a tutorial for Krita?
@pandabear26734 жыл бұрын
I just want to say I recently ordered a tablet (not here yet), but immediately lost motivation to start learning digital art because all of the tutorials seemed too complicated, I haven't even done traditional art in years and now suck at it and Krita itself had so many options and I'm not tech savvy at all. BUT your videos honestly made me motivated again and I'm so grateful because the tablet was not cheap, so thank you!
@clanker80214 жыл бұрын
Hey, seeing that your comment is recent I just wanted to let you know that it is okay if you don't understand some things, we all start at the basics after all. When you get your tablet, I suggest you look up on youtube videos that teach easy pen gesture exercises so you can get used to your tablet, as it takes some time to adapt to those things! Also don't worry if you haven't done traditional art, you can always pick up a pen and paper to practice if you want (art fundamentals carry from traditional to digital either way) but you can just practice on digital too. And lastly, see if you can find some art communities here on the internet, there's plenty of people who will be more than happy to teach you, and besides, it's also good to have support from other artists! If you have Discord, you can find many public and well moderated servers that offer healthy and fun interactions with other artists who are learning like you. Good luck and I hope you can make some awesome art on the future, just remember to have patience, and be ready to make thousands of bad drawings, cuz they are inevitable, but don't worry, just don't give up ever m8. Start small, go easy on yourself, don't be afraid to make mistakes. Have a nice day!
@pandabear26734 жыл бұрын
@@clanker8021 Thank you for your encouraging comment my friend! It genuinely brightened my day:) I have since received my tablet, though I haven't had a chance to use it much it was surprisingly easier to draw digitally than I expected. Thank you for all your advice, that's a good idea I should probably make a discord account or something. Anyway, have yourself a lovely year!!

I experience(d) the same thing. just starting with digital painting/art/stuff is so overwhelming! I started with getting just to know what does what in Krita and tried to think of what to make first. At trying at that I got a bit of a feeling for some options/brushes/settings/etc . I also kept a small file of important and useful things like KB shortcuts. During this trying-out I began to feel what was nice to use (a lot) and managed to make them as shortcuts on my tablet (I have 6 customisable buttons!). From there I kinda drifted from tutorial to tutorial and in addition began looking at things(like real life objects things), -how- do they look like(line-art kinda way)? What colours do they have? Can I see highlights and shading or shadows? Can I imagine how to set up such a drawing (esp the layering). Needless to say, stuff is still overwhelming and I just look at past tutorials again and again to make it more stick (in my memory ^^; ). And this is one of those tutorials that just "clicks" to make it "stick" in my mind @TutsByKai . It does help that I have used PS8/CS a lot back in the day so I also have some sort of; "i could do this/use this in CS, where is it here?" . Again these tutorials and guides online help a ton with that! What Iv'e learnt is; just start SOMEWHERE and just drift along different things (read: styles, options, trying out new buttons etc), it will soon make more sense. And allow yourself some time to let it sink in :) . (sometimes I dont do anything for a week or 2, but I do think about it; which has a nice side effect to de-stress ;) )

Been getting back into drawing over the past week or so and this is a great refresher to get my new piece coloured properly.
@magnusm45 ай бұрын
Very basic and simple. But the result is outstanding. Just the first dots of air brush made it look great from a flat color. Love the quick clipping group, forgot how to do that. I hadn't painted for a long time and tried something new. Took wet brush and changed the brush shape from dots to the brush stroke looking one. Then I painted a rough body with thick strokes, and the magic came when I erased the thickness of the stroke to thinner. 32% opacity and the erased part became a beautiful shade. Took a pattern for the fill brush, about 70% opacity, painted one, rotated it 45 degrees and another filled pattern layer so it doesn't look repeated. Finally on a separate layer, gradient brush straight across the image size from both sides to fill in the color. Beautiful canvas to paint on. And the resulting character I drew blew my mind. I have never painted such a well drawn character. Previously never ever shaded. I suck at even trying That one wet brush and erasing felt like the click bait "this one trick takes you from amateur to professional" it honestly was that simple.

@Soitisisit2 жыл бұрын
In case you still need this: Yes. Select the layer with the black lines and then select them with either the fuzzy select tool or the by colour select. Invert selection. After that change back to your masking layer and paint away and it won't touch the lines.

@TutsByKai3 жыл бұрын
Black and white are infinity colors and are typically ugly to draw with. Pure white is too bright, and pure black is too dark. NOTHING in life is solid black or white. A black hoodie is not 000000, a white hoodie is not ffffff. These values are unrealistic to draw with and will only hurt your art unless you're going for a specific stylistic choice.
@KarmaGrass3 жыл бұрын
@@TutsByKai okay well I was being sarcastic in some sense, but I do use black for lines as well as pupils. Not many things should be solid black. And white is useful too. Besides if you don't want it to be too bright that's what shade layers are for right?

A couple corrections: Your highlight at the bottom of the sphere should not exist as it implies a second light, which there isn't. Also, since the "light" from above is coming from an angle, the shadow under the sphere should favor the right side.
@TutsByKai3 жыл бұрын
How do you know there's not another light? :D There IS a second light, because I made one. That's why I drew highlight :)
@mortarmopp39193 жыл бұрын
From a real-world perspective, that second light shouldn't hit the sphere because by creating a shadow underneath, your implying some kind of flat, opaque surface is there.
