@MasoTrumoi6 ай бұрын
Sexuality has never been a problem in a game, agency has been and commodification. When people talk about "objectifying" women they mean where it's clear the woman has been designed as an object of desire, not a subject. Voyeuristic camera angles that make her seemingly unaware of your attention, outfits that don't fit the theme of the character but are just lingerie or bikinis, or every aspect of her character existing to reinforce or celebrate a man the player plays as. That kind of thing. Bayonetta is beloved by women and queer people because she's active in her sexuality. When the camera pans to her butt she pops it out and gives a sassy moan, she pole dances while beating demons to shit, her sexy outfit is unnervingly also her hair. She's also the hero and one of the most powerful beings in her setting, constantly making choices and strutting up to powerful beings and laughing at them. The problem was never sexuality, that was a strawman the gooners used to try and demonize the changes to writing, the problem was shitty writing for better merch sales.

I actually really like that he starts the video immediately speaking. That's the only good thing I'll say about him, but I hate it when content creators treat the viewers like we're made out of time. Time is incredibly precious and I'm grateful to anyone who respects that.

Tyler, a great point about people actually searching out the things they enjoy. I've been saying it for ages when channels complain about views/subs not watching their channels that there's three easy ways to find out if a channel I like has posted new stuff. Actually going to the channel once a week, checking the bell notification, or checking the subs page. I'm one of the people who massively oversub, yet I always keep up with the channels that are my "top favs" because I'm actively making sure I do so. If someone's quality (for me) drops off, I'll usually remain subbed, but my focus on keeping up with their work will fade away until I'm checking maybe once a month or so and then just picking whatever video title catches my attention. That this fact keeps getting missed by all the channels complaining about their revenue bugs the living fuck out of me.

When he poped up recently I unsubscribed, but youtube kept recommening me his videos that I ignored for a while, and then it either stopped or I blocked him in recomendation. After watching several of your videos, I can safely say you’re both very entertaining and not afraid to just come out and speak your piece on the matter unlike a lot of the anti-woke crowd that I had a falling out with a while back, and I completely respect you for it. Keep up the good work, as you’re going to go far unlike Shad here. 😊

I used to watch his video game castle reviews where he talked about the architecture and how realistic or not they were. There hasn't been a lot of that on the market lately and I already learned about the topic. Did he think there would be an unlimited appetite for his content? Can an audience just be satiated with a topic?

I wouldn't take Christian heresiology as a good metric of what to consider Christian/non-Christian. Sure, Mormonism is a weird cult that functions only in the way it cuts itself off from mainstream Christianity, but the theological differences are so nuanced and minute that I have a hard time distinguishing the significance of their brand of cult from any other denomination. They believe in God the Father and in God the Son. They believe that Christ is the savior and the god to worship without devaluing God the Father. They believe that Holy Spirit exists and is one together with the Son and the Father. Only it's not the Nicenic unity, but a "separate but united Gods" sort of unity. They conflate Jesus with Yahweh in some twisted reconstruction of Elohist-Yahwist distinction, they extrapolated material nature of Father from this distinction, and they somehow managed to accidentally reconstruct a consort for him. They added an angel, added a prophet, have weird Americo-centric rewriting of history, and many other things that rightly label them as a weird cult, but why non-Christian? They worship Christ, they worship him as God and messiah, their theology comes clearly directly from mainstream Christianity, and just like all the other denominations they have non-canonical made-up BS that makes them heretics to all other sects. I would understand Gnostic ideas to be unchristian because they reject God and they don't see Christ as God. I understand Rastafari to be separate because of mutual discrediting between the Rastas and Christians, as well as them labeling Christian theological objects as Satanic. And I would even accept that early Christianity is not the same as Christianity right after. But Mormons just seem like a weird Christian cult.
@Nuvizzle7 ай бұрын
I mean, he is Christian. There is no single Christian doctrine. Mormonism believes Christ is the messiah so it's a Christian religion. They just believe a whole bunch of other insanity that other Christian denominations say are wrong, like for example Jesus being American. I think we all agree Protestants and Catholics are both Christians but that didn't stop them from murdering the hell out of eachother during The Troubles.
@Arvak7777 ай бұрын
Agreed. I'm Christian and from what Ive researched, Mormons believe "follow the rules and you become a god and have babies in heaven". Absolute heresy and blasphemous tbh

Oh my god, when you dropped into the Pirate Software bit I almost died. Perfect. also though... I'm unsure why Shad even feels like he needs to make a video like this. Like, does anyone actually care? Surely if there's a problem. He should focus on fixing it, instead of putting out such a long video explaining whats going wrong and thus draw even more attention to the problems. It feels like a waste of his shitty Australian bandwidth lol

What happens to Shad is also happening with Midnight Edge; at least in my case. They are now so deep in the orange kool-aid of Trumpian nonsense, even their media/entertainment analysis, once spot on, are now but political platforming; the very thing they accuse ''the left'' of. I unsubscribed from them and have stopped watching Shad for more than a year now. Almost got off Nerdrotic because of his Trumpism but he is much more discreet and brief with it so I can get by... for now. Nothing annoys me more than someone throwing his politics or his religion in my face.
