Shadow seems more like a girl's best friend than a brother or boyfriend based off of how we have seen him act with Amy as of late. But unfortunately, my reply to you was in regards to Sonic X Amy. Not Shadow & Amy. She chased him, pressured him, ignored how he felt and forced herself on him for years... Definitely not healthy. And he disrespected her, left her behind, ignored her and was just all kinds of done with her for years, which is also not healthy. And Sonic wants to be a free spirited guy with nothing tying him down so that he can always go wherever he wants when he wants and do whatever he wants. While she wants to settle down. They both want different things and it wouldn't be fair for either one of them to have to compromise their dreams and the things they want. So I was saying Sonic and Amy work best as friends. Now, if we are talking about Sonic and Amy from Sonic Boom, then that is completely different. Since that is technically considered an alternate universe and the characters have a somewhat different lifestyle and personalities, and they already act like they are dating and we know they both like each other, they could work. They both live in the same village and both are settled down in one place and just do hero stuff whenever Eggman attacks that one village over and over again. So I could see them working there.

Fun fact: In Sabrina Carpenter's concerts, there's a segment that happens in the middle of it where she looks over the audience and points out an audience member that she thinks is "too hot." She interacts with them, has her skirt fall down while talking to them, and "arrests" them by giving them pink handcuffs as memorabilia from the concert. She then ends the segment by performing her song Juno (a song about wanting to do naughty actions and conceive a child with her lover), which she claims is being dedicated to them. Most of the time, she just finds a random attractive person in the audience, but there are some instances where she just calls attention to a celebrity being in attendance (i.e., when Millie Bobby Brown got selected) and a few instances where it's staged (i.e., Marcello Hernandez showing up as the Domingo character from that one SNL sketch). All that to say, imagine Sabrina Carpenter catches wind of this and decides to do a staged "arrest" of Shadow in one of her future concerts. That would probably be the funniest thing to happen in the history of mankind.
