I can definitely hear the "Hinata voice" from Maria, and yet... Stephanie Sheh also voices Zeena! For some reason it's so unbelievable, but it shows just how good her range is. Overall, the animation is top-notch.

I loved this short so much when I first saw it in full, and I really liked how well hidden they kept this was actually Shadow reliving his memories afterward and not just a retelling of events. The Emerl incident being shown also isn't just a callback to Sonic Battle. It was the pretext that GUN used to storm the ARK and shut down Project Shadow, so it is a significant detail of Shadow's story and I'm glad it is being presented as an "inciting incident" to where his troubles really began. The way Shadow's memories seem to blend and overlap after he shatters the wall in the fight with Emerl (right after that the GUN ships board the ARK, then he sees Gerald locked up in the cell on Prison Island, then Maria is shot) makes me wonder how MUCH this whole memory sequence overlaps events that actually occurred at distinct moments. It could imply his conversation with Maria that we see happen right before Emerl goes berserk could be two separate core memories he holds that get mashed together in this strange vision. It's possible he had that conversation with her at the same time right as Emerl goes out of control, I just don't think it was convenient timing, personally, when time and memories are clearly being messed with in this short.

If Shadow has constant Nightmares about his past, then no wonder why he's always portrayed to be a lone wolf in the IDW comics and in the Mainline Games. Because Shadow is afraid that if he gets too close to someone like he did with Maria all that time ago, then they might die like she did. And let's really think about this. Who is the only person Shadow got along with mentally and emotionally? That's right, it's Maria. And now she's dead. And at the same time, that death had an impact on Shadow. What I am trying to say here, is that Shadow made an irrational fear after Maria's death, so that way History (like Marias death) doesn't repeat itself again. And to make sure that doesn't repeat again, he became a lone wolf in the current cannon, to make sure Sonic and his Friends stayed alive. Think about it like with Wisper in the IDW comics for example. Wisper always has a hard time dealing with her past all the time. And every time her past comes onto the surface again to remind her about how history is going to repeat itself again, the difference is that Tangle is there to remind her that everything now is different then how it was in the past. And Tangle, at the same time, is also there to make sure history doesn't repeats itself again. But with Shadow, he just doesn't have that same support around him. Yes Shadow has Team Dark, but is Shadow really that close with Team Dark like how he was with Maria 50 years ago? Yes Shadow can relay on Team Dark, but Shadow isn't really close friends with them like how he was with Maria all that time ago. And that's the difference. And lets think about this further. How are irrational fears created? Well, irrational fears start because of a bad experience or panic attack related to a specific object or a situation. And the situation itself, is Maria's death in context.

@godforothchannel4272 Unofficially, they kinda have already with the one meme on the Twitter account matching various Sonic characters with D&D classes, and currently with the Fantasy-themed character variants in the Sonic mobile games, such as Paladin Amy and Warlock Infinite.

the piano might be a new song planned for Shadow generations after all it's very possible they give us a vocal final boss track. after all i still think the biggest crime of generations was that the final boss did not have a vocal track despite being an anniversary game.

In Shad05 he had bouts of his lost memory pop up in ways that physically hurt his head. It's never stated he stopped havin them jus that he doesn't focus or dwell when they pop up cus he's focused on doin wut he wants in the present. There's even a comic strip in 2016 by ST that shows he has dreams/nightmares of the past at times but he doesn't think bout them too much so he doesn't fall back to where he was in the beginnin of shad05

Unless it's part of the re-arranging of his memories? a retcon? Maria's scream of "remember" might actually be a currently living (if time-displaced) Maria in the white world trying her best to help him. Maria launching Shadow in the capsule didn't happen here and we do see the pair across the void, right?
