Honestly, ignoring the actual gameplay for a second: as a tabletop RPG enthusiast, I'd LOVE to have the planet generation part of the game just for creating interesting planets for sci-fi games. I've seen several simplified "roll a dice and check the table"-solutions to this problem before, but they all suffer from small tables and same-y end results that often are very specific to their particular setting.

Yes, I got the map layers and logistic overlays almost the same as you do, can't stress enough how important it is to be on top of your logistics in this game. Later on you get some HUNGRY units and if you don't have a strong logistics set up you will exhaust yourself in a big war VERY fast. Early game logistics are what will limit the player's "boarders" unlike other games that use something like cultural points to expand boarders in SE logistics determine boarders.

this game has terrible outdated UI, and manage a lot of things takes a lot of time. But I guess it’s ancient engine and it won’t be changed

​@@jeremiah-w7e It does a pretty good job with logistics and wargaming aspects, but I believe the Crusader Kings-like elements were not necessary and time consuming. i think for this kind of game ui is more than enough.

Not gonna lie, tried to watch your dedicated SE tutorial and found it a bit cluttered, but I found this first episode of an actual run really helpful. Reminds me a lot of trying to teach my friends to play a game I've played lots of, they always found it easier to just watch me and ask what i'm doing rather than have me try to explain it all lol

Well I got the game on sale because of these videos. Feelling a bit overwhelmed at the getgo, however. I went and played civ 5 bnw for a bit and my reaction was "what a simple game this is!". In comparison at any rate. We will see how it goes.

Das can you do an updated tutorial for this Game ?? ALSO, if possible can you use a bigger mouse cursor, or a mouse cursor that's more obvious? I find it difficult to track where you mouse is going since there is so much going on in the UI

I would love when you could change the planet settings yourself. The random generator is fine, but when you want something specific it's just tedious.

I understand that the randomness is part of the appeal, but I do wish you had the ability to customize the planet as you're generating it, so if you get one that's almost but not quite how you want it you can adjust it instead of rerolling forever.

I'm asking that because sometimes I don't wanna produce a new formation because I'm running Low on Food, but here comes the game and interferes with it, so the game is driving me into shortage I don't get it

Interesting. I keep forgetting about the Upgrade option in the game, I guess if a militia is far away from City I can simply press the Upgrade button instead of moving a new one all the way from the city. I gotta remind myself of that.

The main one is the Das Terrain Icons which you can pick up for free from ko-fi.com/dastactic but I have a couple of other mods that change the player icons to StarWars icons and also my own branded icons.

awesome... the possibilities in this game... 🤣I won't watch beyond a few minutes because I don't wanna spoil any advanced tactics, I started the game yesterday and I'm at round 36 now (I rolled a Desert planet for my first time) But it's good to know this great game is a gold mine for content on youtube and there are endless possibilities for the procedural random generation... it feels to me like Xcom on steroids 👍👍

please developers of the game consider adding Mouse Wheel support for scrolling text boxes, it would make the game insanely easier to play on laptop without mouse.... what I'm actually liking this game for is that I can play only with mouse so I don't need to be sitting down with my 2 hands on the laptop at all times... it's actually nice 🤣

one question about the Random Generation in this game: when the game generates a new planet, do all the players (competitors) on the map start with the same numbers? do they start at the same conditions? And a 2nd question I guess is there option to make "quick games" ? (no more than 30 or 50 turns to victory) I think quick games would be a nice addition

No they don't it's in fact a huge problem in MP for those that want a balance start it's mentioned in the discord. Starting position are very asymmetric. For SP, at hard and extreme the player might not even have a ruins or metal mine around.

okay been trying the game for a few more days, not quite sure how Combat works, sometimes it tells me that I have the advantage 20:1 and even then I still lose to some ass small infantry militia 🤣or for example how an enemy unit can still fight back when I already attacked it 2 times before in the same turn... shouldn't they be depleted of their Action Points for that turn?

but yeah, tried some different planets or reloading the Turn 1 save... I'm not quite learning the game as fast as I hoped, it seems like I'm struggling with the game even more now compared to my 1st run which I basically spedrun the game and somehow done better that way

How do you deal with the AI having carte blanche to all strategems? I find this game very annoying because major regimes can snap up all minors in the first few turns, or in the case of Oceania they can spam all the MTH makeshift ports they want. Love the game but this is why I quit playing in the past. It's either play in beginner or deal with a very unfair AI that can do things the player simply cannot. I know you can overcome this with strategy though, but it annoys me to no end.

for example in this game I ended up a Low Food situation and I don't quite know why this happened because I had surplus and I haven't created any additional troops into the map... so I'm not quite sure of how this works... is it because city population slowly increase with time?
