If this is the last time we see Mephiles (which let's be real it probably is) at least he's no longer just that terrible boss fight from a broken game and he actually have a good boss fight in a great game , his fight was easily the best in the game and i really like his lines and how he just want to return to the timeline after the events of 06 , scared of being stuck here outside the time , alone forever

Well the future is uncertain. I liked the Boss Fight, he is a unique villain. (Even in 06 truly, sure he wasn't all flourished, but he had Silver and Blaze at the palm of his hands) Besides the point, in Shadow Generations he truly shines here for the fight.
