The fact that this is all entirety outside of any bugs or glitches (unless you wanna count the chaos spear and air slides maintaining speed, but those feel more like exploits rather than glitches) and uses what the level itself has to offer just shows how much care they put into the levels and how much they wanted replayability to be a factor in the game. This is nothing short of amazing.

It's really fun, but it is usually harder to do than Chaos Spears. I'm just terrible at the jump > spear input, so I like to air slide lol

1:31 nice strat going up n over instead of to the side, ig thats another eagle skip added to the books. also i think at 0:14 if you stomp on the rope and then delay a boost into spam chaos spear, you can reach the grass without homing into the robot, then do a stomp into the left boost spring skip. however I will add that what i just said is only optimal if you're able to destroy all 5 robots when you cross the bridge at 0:19, however in my experience its super rare, one in 50 runs

Can someone explain the sidestep exploit? I understand that spears maintain momentum, but how do you do the air sidestep stuff? 1:35 for example, he does something right before he jumps that keeps all the momentum from the dash.

Boost > Jump > Quickstep. Pressing the QS button during a jump (or double jump) puts you in that air slide state which has the same property as Spear where you keep all your speed

How do you manage to get so much height from the sidestep jump? The momentum is there but man I just can't get enough height to really pull it off

If you mean at the start, I'm getting a slope jump off the edge of the bridge. It's not necessary to make that gap though; I usually cancel the sidestep a bit early with air boost then throw 4 chaos spears. If I did it right, I can jump + spear to the platform, otherwise I die. Pretty consistent tho

@soggymemes2057 Positioning only really matters for facing direction. Slope jumps can make it more lenient, but at the moment they're never required. Timing is the main thing

@@JadeGullyZone When you break a capsule, it'll instantly refill your gauge then release some particles which *also* refill it. If you run into a capsule while holding the Chaos Control button, you buffer the activation, letting you instantly CC. When that runs out, you collect the particles, gaining a second CC

Boost > Jump > Quickstep. Once you see Sonic start falling a bit (picture him going below where you jumped), Air Boost > Chaos Spear Glide, then you can double jump + spear as needed

How the heck are you hitting all those robots at the beginning to get Chaos Control? I have done this dozens of times now and I cannot destroy enough of them.

@@SonicFan2525 Aim straight, but move Shadow slightly to the right at the last moment. Your goal is to hit the two white robots up front as well as the red one in the back

Really sick looking run! Is there any tech for the chaos spear jumps? Like specific timing? Or is it just mashing? Also curious what your button layout is.

@@WaddleDee105 The earlier you start the mash, the better, but it's lenient once you get it going. No real rhythm to it, just spam. I use the default control options, just with the Reset Camera input bound to L3 instead of R3
