Tell you what he loves a stick 👌Only came across them 8 weeks had never seen a bauld eagle on film 📼 but do have the Golden eagle 🦅 in Scotland. Their love will endure. Mating frequently along with so many other expressions of love. Eagles don’t think the way we do, thank God. They will flourish as they have done since meeting in 2018.

Its just my opinion but I think alot of people are speculating regarding this video. Jackie did not chase Shadow from the nest, he left on his own accord. These two eagles are so devoted and dedicated to each other and will be together, God willing, for a long time. This is their home, their nest and from what I have read over and over again, they will visit their nest from time to time and tend to it. I think we need to relax a bit and just enjoy seeing them work together and love each other.

The way Jackie is shaking off her beak makes me think she's got concerned with her tongue tip's analysis of the biochemical state of some nest areas. I know this behavior from different type of birds. They are shaking beaks like this when they want to get rid of a unpleasant /strong /bad taste. It is deeply touching to observe them dealing with this situation on their own. Their bondage is gold

I didn't see any drama. This is how they bond. They are slowly working (burying) the eggs down into the nest together as a team and they were flirting by bumping into each other. Shadow wasn't "run off the nest" he simply left Jackie to do her thing as he waited for her. It looks to me like they may be trying for a 2nd clutch this year but to be fair, they seem to to try for that every year that the eggs aren't viable and we haven't seen it happen yet.

I wonder if their nest has been infested with biting ants because of the rotten eggs. Yuck! But you see them occasionally shaking their head fiercely as though something is biting them, but they keep on digging around. Why they don't just throw the eggs out of the nest is interesting. A lot of little birds do that when the eggs are infertile or rotten.

I agree. I thought they are picking out bugs/ants. And maybe eating some? My parakeets would just discard the eggs from the nest if not good. So I was wondering that myself. Maybe they will soon or in time. I believe they re-use the nest again.

I know this behavior from different types of birds when they instantly want to get rid of a bad / unpleasant taste. Today one of my pigeons was observing me closely eating some carrot salad so I offered some. They can quickly sense with the tip of their tongue if something is good or bad for them. There's even a term for this tongue scan skill but I forgot what it was.

You would think they could pick up the old shells and drop them out of the nest. They pick up great big sticks with their beaks. Could be ants are coming in for those broken eggs. That might be with her digging around for in the nest. Sometimes they shake their head fiercely, it's possible they're being bit by ants.

It is fairly common for eagles to lay eggs that don’t hatch. If an egg goes too far beyond the normal hatching date, the parents may continue to incubate it for days or weeks, but eventually they will attempt to move it out of the way, bury it under nest debris, or even eat it.

Earlier someone mentioned it's possible that there are biting ants in the nest because the eggs are still there and they might be eating that. The eagles might be trying to remove them. If you see everyone saw they shake their head fiercely, they might be being bit by ants. I saw that in an earlier post. It makes sense.

It may be that Jackie is re-thinking her mating with Shadow. In three years, they have had seven eggs laid, and ONE surviving chick... We may not want to think about it, but in nature, it is the female that decides with whom she will mate. Since there is no way of knowing which of the two is not up to the mark, Jackie may be thinking of trying another mate. She did this once before. We may not like it, but it is definitely possible that this is what is happening.
