The color cover does specifically call it a "comic adaptation" コミカライズ and not a "tie-in" タイアップ but, well, it does obviously take heavy liberties. The fact that the cyclops from Rayman 2 brings up Dragon Balls with the serial numbers filed off instead of Chaos Emeralds tells me this is going to be an original story that relates to the game only a little bit.

Ah, my mistake. I had seen a lot of people calling it a tie-in so I had made an assumption without double checking - but still super interested with what the story's doing.

Ok so this is definitely non-canon. Maria takes 2 bullets instead of just a fatal one Shadow finds himself in white space much too early, Dark beginning clearly shows that he is only there after confronting Black doom who he will probably encounter in the Ark The scene where Maria dies is completely different from the original version

and i've just got back from playing Sonic X Shadow Generations and finished it in 3 days and im pretty sure the game doesn't have this small little, Black Arms bat creature or whatever named "Bug-Eye* following Shadow around ok but seriously though, what the hell is Bug-Eye supposed to be anyways? a Black Arm alien from the events of Shadow 05 that ended up at White Space?

i have a feeling that at the end of the manga, Shadow didn’t revive Maria but instead moves on and getting closure at her death

In episode 1 of Dark Beginnings we see Shadow going through his memories and he mentions that "This isn't how it happened. The soldiers are arriving too soon." Which to me implies that Black Doom is altering time to make the soldiers arrive sooner. And I think that's what we're seeing here. The perspective from the Shadow of the past dealing with the actions of future Black Doom Reminder that Classic Sonic is Sonic from the past but after the events of Generations. Beacuse Classic is aware of his future there's now a timeline split but Modern is still here. Meaning that both can exist

I came to the same conclusion when thinking of why Black Doom would be manipulating the soldiers in the first place. If this really ends up being the case, I expect everyone who mocked the manga to apologize. Unfortunately, the loudest and most arrogant Sonic fans can't wait for answers or stop to think why things might be happening. Nah, to them it must be that they understand Shadow's character better than the mangaka.

I’m not sure how to feel about, but I don’t trust that eye thing. I can get behind the one GUN shoulder being manipulated by Black Doom, even him influencing Gerald’s insanity, but the Black Arms affecting all of the soldiers feels like too much.

Black Doom in STH stated that the Black Arms goal was to harvest humanity like a resource, not to outright destroy them. If Black Doom purposely had a hand in manipulating either the soldier or Gerald, then he literally threw that whole plan of his in jeopardy by driving Gerald insane and unintentionally making him want to destroy the entire planet instead.

For the leak, not the wish orbs but there is a particular line of Shadow that callback the moment he try to touch Maria's echo/illusion.

My guess this is going to be an alternative Shadow who will have to fight Game Shadow because the latter will try and stop him obtaining the orbs after figuring out that they are a lie somehow

Either that, or it's going to be the whole "I can finally bring you back, but I'm now at a crossroads to were the world outside of here desperately needs me to use this wish, with Maria telling Shadow to use the wish orbs to save the world instead of bringing her back and telling him that she's happy for him, and knowing that he's able to find a place for himself on Earth makes her content with sacrificing herself for the greater good."

In the anime episode they released to advertise the game, it looked like Shadow was being tormented and constantly, seemingly mentally, dragged back to those moments on the Ark before he lost Maria. The manga could be referencing one of those moments. Ether this is fully before then, or it takes place after he launched off in a rocket to head to the Ark to figure out why this was all happening.

These comics look too weird for me. I agree with some of the other commenters here, It can't canon. In the games Shadow was already in the escape pod when a gun soldier ran in the room and shot Maria. He wasn't outside it. Also, she only got shot once. Good review video BTW.

I got a theory, we might see shadow vs shadow. like the shadow that we have been seeing sense sonic adventure 2 to now, he has accepted his life and tries to move on and make friends, but still struggles to move on. and the other Shadow aka the manga version aka shadows beginning, with the image of Maria's death very, VERY fresh, he would want to destroy everything, so I think black Doom isn't the final boss, but manga shadow..... But Hay that's just a theory, A GAAAAAME THEORY
