Melancholy is a perfect album! Everything about it from the lyrical concept, the guitarwork, the drumming, the vocals (both cleanish and harsh), the symphonic elements, and especially the compositions are legit stellar. Definitely one of my all time favorite albums

Still haven't gotten into this genre, have heard songs here and there that make me wanna dive in but its tough for me with the vocals sounding the same with a lot of bands of deathcore

I find this to be the case as well! There are a few bands, SOI being one of them, that I’m able to regularly jam but for me it’s harder to find stand-out deathcore bands with my taste.
