Ok so I want to say this song is from the POV of the Arbiter after turning his back on the Covenant? I'm getting that vibe from the lines about losing shackles/not being a slave; also "the voices died as they called my name" could be how he witnessed the Great Schism, as well as the last line "Just know I'm sorry" could be towards humanity as he apologises for the atrocities the Sangheili committed while serving the Covenant

Not Halo related at all apparently. Written about a real depressing time in the vocalist's life.

Balfazar Bummer that they're straying away from Halo but it's great that the band can express themselves and tell their own stories now. 👍
@balfazar36736 жыл бұрын
Is a bit of a bummer but it's understandable that one would wish to vent about such an experience. Annd honestly have no Idea if they'll be taking this path or continuing on with Halo lyrics, be cool to have a bit of both.
@fullswingin6 жыл бұрын
Balfazar Yeah I've read about that, maybe the lyrics are personal but Ben wrote them in such a way that might also be malleable to Halo's setting? I've personally done that before with lyrics and poetry, starting out with something personal but using enough references and metaphors to mask it under another narrative. I guess we'll find out when we hear/see more new stuff, then we can properly judge the lyrical content :)
