Look up the album I mentioned You can listen to any song off that album and hear the direct influence but the most obvious one is the song Puritania. The over the radio robot vocals are a Shagrath signature. Ben uses it at the start of this song and through out Barren and Breathless.

When he does the more quiet, witchy sounding vocals, that is what people are talking about when they refer to the style as "Dimmu Borgir" that is essentially the staple vocal sound to black metal bands.

Only reason you can still call them deathcore is due to the breakdowns but they are so much more. I would just place them in extreme metal. They include symphonic, prog, black, death, and metal/death core elements.

Honestly signs of the swarm sucked and was boring with him and now it continues in Lorna shore. Being able to go low doesn’t make you a good vocalist. But clarity pronunciation and brutality are properties of a good vocalist. And Ben is probably the greatest vocalist to rep deathcore.

Re-listening to this just a bit ago has given me an ever greater appreciation for it. Specifically, or I should say especially Ben's vocals. Love the way he's annunciating here. A lot of his lows start low, and end even lower, nearly twice as low. It sounds very interesting. Expert vocal work.
