Mesmer is most likely a sibling to miquella and malenia as we all know Aeonion butterflies represent malenia Nascent butterflies represent miquella And now finally for the smouldering butterflies we can safely say that they represent Mesmer

Let's go over what we've seen in the trailer and what we know. The magic that we've seen before is present in this trailer, the angel wing attack the crucible knights use, that armored boar knight seems to use gravity magic, and we see some AOE enchant attack that the branches of bewitching have the effect of. Plus all the new armor looks great, but I really want to trade Torrent for that armored boar, or at the very least give armor to Torrent.
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 3 ай бұрын
I always found it odd that we couldn't customise Torrent in any way. He's a big part of the game, after all. Not saying he needed like, upgrades and nitrous boosters, but even some cosmetic changes like armour or whatever would've been neat

Dollars to donuts says Messmer is what Mohg managed to turn Miquella into by exposing him to the blood magics of the Formless Mother, which might be who Messmer is referring to instead of Marika. I'm also convinced that if St. Trina is Miquella's benevolent 'Dream' self, then Messmer is Miquella's malevolent 'Nightmare' self, and thus Messmer is an amalgam of everything that Miquella deems as 'wrong' about his existence, namely his ties to Radagon and his extended family through Rennala and Godfrey.
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 3 ай бұрын
Haha, Miquella having a good and a bad side would be amusing. Although I think that line about mom would only really make sense if it's Marika, given the context of what he's saying. But we shall see!

@@SilverMontIf you've read Berserk, I believe Miquella is Griffith, Messmer is Femto, and St. Trina is Griffith's Hawk of Light reborn form.

that’s not the case anymore sadly. Miyazaki had confirmed in an ign interview that released with the trailer that Mesmer was one of Marika’s children who was not mentioned in the base game
@Brutalyte616
@Brutalyte616 3 ай бұрын
@@Some_guy_and_his_games Yeah, well Radagon is Marika, so I wouldn't be surprised if Messmer is Miquella in the same way that St. Trina is Miquella. Plus, depending on the phrasing and how it translates, Miyazaki might be telling a half-truth; we've never heard of 'Messmer' because the theoretical Messmer version of Miquella is not mentioned in the base game in the same way St. Trina is never outright confirmed to be Miquella.

This is purely about your last comment of "quality not quantity of bosses"; I totally agree, but I do think the repeat bosses (sometimes) were used in a cool way to really throw you a shock when they change. The Dragonkin soldier that grows wings and has ice-lightning is a pretty incredible "wow" moment if you've already fought the others and assume it will be the same. Similar with the Erdtree Avatar that clones itself. It could have been done better or with more impressive changes, but I kinda like the design choice of "There will be multiple of this boss, and one of them will have some crazy change, but we can't make it predictable when it will happen".

Very happy to see a video from your channel :) My thoughts are something akin to Godwyn’s Dream, we we have the soulless corpse of Godwyn looming in the background, while we fight Lichdragon within his dream. Perhaps Messmer is Miquella’s Dream variant. Polluted and infused with the Formless Mother’s blood from Mohg. Perhaps Messmer is the name of the Formless Mother? Sure a big stretch, but very exciting to have DLC on the horizon.

Messmer is the only character I think of so far, with a name similar to Elemer of the Briar. Both have occult ties and a deep red theme. Much of the theming in the trailer, besides the crucible and miquella, reminds me of the occult and Eochaid. The deep red hair of Messmer reminds me of Radagon, Radahn, and the giants. The impaler's Catacombs in the Weeping Peninsula hint at a connection of Messmer the Impaler to that area as well. So excited to see what the community learns before the DLC comes out!

Mesmer theories are going to be fun. Based on his dialogue and appearance, I'm thinking he's a third Marika/Radagon self-child and sibling to Malenia and Miquela. He has features of Rykard too though, plus it looks like he's weilding blood sorcery like Mohg. Maybe the snakes are even grafted. In any case I can't wait.

I'm of the opinion that this area is concealed with those veils. Like the Black Knife Assassins they are practically invisible unless you use that special torch to root them out. Regarding the word shadow I think it's a play on words how assassins are hidden in the shadows, so this entire region has been put in the shadows. I imagine that there will be some special item to see this location and it will be in the middle of the map.

Messmer gave me instant Mogh vibes with their weapon being of similar materials as Moghs as well as the blood red flames. I'm guessing Messmer is the Godfrey of the DLC and it's Formless Mothers Elden Beast equivalent that's after them as the main DLC story ender. Secret super boss will be something to do with Godwyn the Dead.

There's absolutely no way messmer is the dlc's final boss. If there's one thing that's consistent with fromsoft trailers, it's that they never show the final boss in the first trailer (except for that one time they made us believe that father ariandel was a solo boss). It's more likely that he occupies a similar role to either ludwig or maria in the old hunters.

Theory: Assuming the Aeonian butterfly represents Malenia, the nascent Miquella, and the smoldering Mesmer, It made me wonder if the statues at the Haligtree with Miquella, Malenia, and what we thought was Godwyn, maybe that was Mesmer actually. I'm also wondering if the entire reason that the this shadow land was separated off from the main lands between was in order to stop Mesmer from presumably destroying the Erdtree, and Maybe Miquella went to the shadow lands to seek out Mesmer for some reason.

"Zanzibart, forgive me" - Myrmidon of Loss what did he mean by this
@SilverMont
@SilverMont 3 ай бұрын
Personal Apology: The Myrmidon of Loss could be apologizing directly to someone named Zanzibart for a personal transgression or mistake. This could be related to something the Myrmidon did that caused harm or distress to Zanzibart. Symbolic Gesture: Alternatively, "Zanzibart" could be symbolic or metaphorical, representing a larger group, entity, or concept. In this interpretation, the Myrmidon might be apologizing for actions that affected a broader community or ideology. Regret and Remorse: Regardless of the specific context, the phrase conveys a sense of regret and remorse. The Myrmidon seems to acknowledge that they have done something wrong and seeks forgiveness for it. Mystery and Intrigue: Sometimes, quotes like this are intentionally ambiguous to create intrigue and mystery within a story. The true meaning might be revealed later on, or it could be left open to interpretation to encourage speculation among readers or viewers.

considering the "quality" of bosses and mini bosses in elden ring far surpass anything in the older games (barring some sekiro bosses and dlcs), i was completely fine with the reusage of bosses in base game, they were mostly optional. hell most of this game's mini bosses are on par if not better than alot of early game main bosses of the older games, crucible knight is a fantastic heavy enemy/mini boss and there are almost 30 heavy enemies like that in this game, so i get confused when souls veterans comment on elden ring's boss quality, just dont fight a boss you've fought before, guess nostalgia bias is a strong drug. that being said, yes, i would love an even higher form of quality elden ring bosses and mini bosses!
