As soon as Ratbag and Ranger were revealed, Talion started treating him with less and less regard; passing him over for Overlord, paying less heed to his input, and a pretty rough exchange before the defense of the Fortress. At first, Bruz felt important, felt respected. But over time, he saw that he was just another face in Talion's army, and took the opportunity when he got it.

Nathaniel Claw I thought Ratbag and Ranger left on their own accord. However, it is sad that Bruz interrupted the final scene between Ratbag and Talion. Honestly I wish that Bruz was just killed, or that if he had to be shamed, he would run away so Ratbag wouldn’t be scared of Talion and Ranger wouldn’t say that Talion was cruel. Bruz is my favorite character in SoW. After I had to shame him (something that I did not want to do) I put him on my Siege Team and made him an Overlord. He deserves so much more than that. Bruz did nothing wrong.

Honestly Bruz has a very sad story. He is a charismatic highly intelligent physically gifted olog who actually ENTHUSIASTICALLY protects and serves you once you brainwash him. He ONLY gets subversive after you pass him on the promotion he legitimately deserves to placate a sniveling toady and a legitimate nobody after all the blood he has shed for you. Truth be told, with his charisma, intelligence, physical abilities, and speaking abilities he is the best stronghold commander you ever have access to. The part where Talion/Celebrimbror decides he shouldn't be commander infuriates me. It would have been simple to please everybodies ego and played politics but instead you have to lose a valuable ally. "Ratbag, I am appointing Bruz as Commander of this Garrison, he has served me well and conquered this place through his own merit."
