Super informative! As someone who hasn’t played shadow priest in awhile I learned a lot. I’m bummed voidweaver isn’t that good right now. I wanted to play because of the aesthetic and fantasy it offers.

@Daisuke69 in a perfect scenario, voidweaver is BARELY 2% behind Archon, and as higher mythic lvls come out and harder content Voidweaver will ramp up even more so the gap will decrease even more. So having saod that play whichever you prefer. Ive mained priest a long time and after trying both Voidweaver just feels and plays so much better for me, including the rotation and thematics of it. Voidweaver is a perfectly solid pick and don't let anyone discourage you otherwise

@zinnia4516 All depends on the skill of the player too, and I personally don't like the Archon rotation. A skilled Voidweaver will do more dps than an average archon any day. But I feel ya homie ✌🏼🙏🏻

Yeah im worried its not even a numbers thing. If voidweaver sims better than archon thats one thing but in practice entropic rift is a lot less consistent in raids with positioning.

Voidweaver is sick but Entropic rift is a bit weird with the way it follows targets. Sometimes it’ll randomly take off on a target that’s completely away from the main pack and it just loses all its uptime in aoe basically

Hİ, can you please explain how you can see ''Mind Flay: Insanity'' procs in the middle ur screen? I mean mine only procs one on left and one on right side, I mean it always shows like it has only 2 stacks even it's at 4 stack (I only realize that when I check the right top buffs). However in your screen you can even see when u have 3 stacks, there will spawn an extra third bar in your screen. please let me know how I can open this setting?

Both are very competitive, but i would say shadow priest in a scale perpective, but The warlock could done more burst damage

Yes and no, it’s just about balancing the consistency of other points with mind devourer’s flat chance to proc which can feel a bit feast or famine at times

I see that you’re not using your mind flay procs immediately? Can you please explain why you holding the procs? I mean I use it immediately ehenever I see its proc and not sure if I have to hold it or not..

You only want to max prio them when they are about to cap or you want the short term burst. For longer duration pulls you want to spread out the procs so that we have less dead time in the rotation when we have other stuff available to press

I would usually save your first catalyst charge for going from 3p to 4p. Or if you have more than 1 charge you can use 2 for 2p to 4p. We prefer to drop gloves and use the other 4

High keys is when spriest finally gets to deliver on its damage profile. Before then mobs die too fast to the likes of fury/frost mage burst aoe that psychic link doesn't get a chance to ramp and our dots to tick

@@Nitram2605 all I would say is most parties are going to be 3 different dps, and if one is arcane mage, maybe another is rogue, possibly augmentation too - they will want PI and priest healers look in a bad spot right now. You'll be competitive in damage across the dungeon in high keys, and you'll be buffing your team not just for dmg with pi, but your raid buff becomes super valuable in higher keys too.

The current damage profile of SP will always be good in medium-high M+ just because of how it's designed. We can do good good ST and AoE without having to sacrifice too much, compared to many other specs which have an obvious choice between ST and AoE, where you reallly have to sacrifice the other to be good at one. We also still have the best mechanic in the game when it comes to singletarget bursting a prio target / high hp mob while passively cleaving all the other mobs in the pack. We still have PI.

Our damage is far too low. Everything is tuned poorly with shadow right now. You feel it in PvP, you feel it in dungeons, and you see it in sims.

Don't feel bad. We legit cannot do anything against burst classes. I typically only use halo on mobs as it's extremely quick and you hit a solid 1m+ DPS on mobs with your mind flay insanity proccing. Save your void erupt + pi for boss fights where you can easily be number 1. I would say also to just focus on getting insanity procs quick as that's most of our dmg rn. Hope this helps.

I honeslty enjoy Archon over voidweaver as voidweaver felt so clunky, slow, and the grandma movement of our rift is just painful to watch. My biggest gripe is how useless we feel outside of halo... In dragonflight we did giant damage outside of void eruption. Our dots + void torrent genuinely felt powerful no matter what. Void torrent is so measly compared to mind flay insanity its extremely sad. Our dots also feel pretty weak. I understand hero talents are supposed to be our new bread and butter. But i want to do damage outside of halo man... It hurts

Hi, I'm asking for a small advice here. In our premade we have a shadow priest who is not particularly performing that amazing. Their logs are fairly average (80-83s mostly on median) but besides 1-2 fight scenarios: 1. using all CDs with PI and BL 2. boss fight where there is minimal movement involved (e.g. 2nd boss in Grim Batol) The Spriest just doesn't bring numbers. We do 10 keys now with our full premade, although with some of our members we push to 11-12s. here is some of our recent results: 10 NW: 800k (1.8 vs 1 mill) 11 Mist: 700k (1.7 vs 1 mill) 10 ara: 850k (1.95 vs 1.1 mill) 10 siege: 700k (1.6 mill vs 900k) I'm a more experienced player (3.5-3.7k most seasons), but currently we mostly time keys by "us (the other dps + me)" carrying our friend. Just to clarify i'm a non-meta dps by all means, I play what I play because I like and when I'm pugging I'm also outdps-ing "meta" dps by 100-200k at least. Now we would like our friend to play with us, but something needs to be done. I played Spriest (as an alt to 22-23 keys previously (current 12-13)), but due to lack of time and money for mats I only play 2 chars which none of them are priest. I haven't even levelled up my priest yet and its a very low priority. I know from experience that "spriest performs better the higher keys go --> mobs survive", but we cannot say "I will do good when we get to 15 keys". I mean you get my point. I will suggest trying out Voidweaver, since it seems to provide more "frequent and more instant dmg" especially when paired with 2 high output dps, but maybe you can give me some insights which can be done or how you - cope when you are paired with high performers / meta dps in your group. Having a spriest is really a great addition to our group comp, especially we exchange who gets PI on Bosses and trash + mint soothe really just help to skip mobs. Currently we are more or less good, but when I do solo pug content I meet usually 3x capable dps who bring the numbers (besides doing mechanics) and keys are significantly smoother that way (oh who guessed it, such wow :D).

The frustrating thing is that archon should be doing less overall DPS because it has access to much higher burst windows. Voidweaver should naturally be tuned to a higher damage level over 2 mins because archon has the burst available in the first 20 seconds.

I stopped playing WoW at the beginning of MoP and came back at the end of season 1 of Dragonflight ... still struggling with the complexity of playing this game as a clicker.. is clicking a "viable" way to play WoW anymore, or do I have to " get with the program" so to speak? I try to find ways to retrain on the priest discord and other sources but It's hard to navigate through all the noise imo

There are so many things on the ground now. Its very hard to click and move at the same time. I would key bind everything and run low level dungeons over and over again until you've memorized everything.

You might be able to get away with clicking on open-world content, and maybe in LFR/non-mythic dungeons... but for anything more difficult you will almost certainly need to use an MMO mouse or keyboard
