Shadow Six Explained (Part 1) Little Nightmares Theory

In this video I attempt to explain Shadow Six or Dark Six, Six's shadowy clone that appears in all three Little Nightmares games.
I will explain the character in a literal sense, a more metaphorical one, as well as giving my own interpretations and theories as well.
During editing I came up with a whole other way you could interpret Shadow Six, so I am calling this part 1 and will give that it's own video in the future!

WAIT WAIT WAIT so now I have another thought regarding Shadow Six’s playfulness. What if she is the manifestation of the exact opposite: Six’s innocence? Hear me out, I think I suck at theories, but hear me out. That fits just as well for many reasons. Notice how before Six was taken by the bullies, she was mostly very childish (which was obviously natural). This was before her innocence, Shadow Six, was distinguishable from her at all, when they used to be one. Then the capture by the bullies could’ve been the turning point, and that’s when Shadow Six starts becoming a separate entity, due to Six slowly losing her innocence. Though she doesn’t appear just yet as Six retains a little bit of her innocence left, but portrays it in very edgy ways. Shadow Six first appears in LN2 after the Thin Man kidnaps Six, this COULD be Six finally losing faith in Mono because he didn’t save her, and having her innocence separated from her as a side effect. After the train scene, Shadow Six then appears to guide Mono a little more to the tower, possibly because she wanted him to save Six, for whatever reason. Again, note the playfulness as mentioned in the video. Shadow Six in the true LN2 ending seems disappointed in Six, and possibly sad that she had literally just betrayed her friend. But because she is the representation of Six’s innocence and she cares (or as mentioned in the video, she might need Six to live for her to live as well, whatever the reason) she sends Six to the maw so she could feed. She doesn’t seem to VISUALLY influence Six to eat the things she did throughout LN1, and only watches her do so. If we think of Shadow Six as Six’s innocence, her watching Six eat horrible things suddenly looks more like she was watching helplessly, knowing she was unable to stop her, being somewhat more of a figment of Six’s imagination. And about me mentioning earlier that SS supposedly sent Six to the Maw to do just that, I think she’d expect more that Six would eat normal things, unaware of the anomalous hunger she had. Then at the part where Six eats the Lady, the only hunger episode where Shadow Six doesn’t appear, this possibly isn’t just Six finally succumbing to the darkness, but the remaining fraction of her innocence completely being wiped -- Shadow Six herself. I like this theory! However, I doubt that Shadow six was even becoming a separate entity until the thin man incident. And not many people know this, but if you brighten the image of six feeding on the lady, you can see Shadow six standing right next to her. Perhaps suggesting that whatever influence, be it good or bad, Shadow six has is becoming stronger

I know it's a small detail but since Mono is my favorite character it's important to me; just wanna say that I don't believe Mono chose not to help Six when he was under the bed. He did obviously hesitate, but then he starts to get a headache like he always does when the Thin Man or the signal is close. I think he was scared of reaching out at first, but his character throughout the game doesn't seem like the type to not push through that fear to do the right thing. I feel like if it hadn't have been for that headache, he would have tried to help even if it meant getting captured too. Mono going to the signal tower to save Six only solidifies my belief that he would have helped her otherwise.

I like this! Because I know Mono very well in my own mind and AU- or something, We all know that Mono is sweet, fearful- and somewhat powerful. Even though he didn't reach out for Six, he would still had to at least try to help Six, like we know he couldn't because of the loud sounds that Thin Man made when he grabbed her- I mean- He killed his own self just to get into The Tower- like bRUh-- A friend wouldn't do that just to save their ONLY bestie!! Think about that for a long second.

One random thing I've noticed about Little Nightmares is how the kids somehow know somewhat of their fates. The raincoat girl in Very Little Nightmares travels by air instead of water and wears a raincoat to protect herself from water but ends up dying IN water. Sorta like she knew her death would be water related. Mono befriends Six and constantly rescues her but unfortunately she drops him. Its like Mono knew he would did alone and kept trying to keep Six with him. Six knows her death will be gluttony related (Gluttony is the Sixth deadly sin, hence her name) but unlikr Mono and the raincoat girl, she doesn't try and avoid it. She constantly eats. If Mono travelled alone without Six and the raincoat girl travelled by water and not air, they wouldn't have died. Just a random thing that I noticed lol

one thing i would like to mention was that mono couldn’t help six if you pay close attention you can here a distortion sound and you can see mono writhing in pain meaning that the thin man was STOPPING mono from helping six

I don't think Mono intentionally betrayed Six the moment she was captured by Thin Man - it looked like he was agony... Before Mono starts teleporting, whenever he's in the same area with Thin man in a cutscene he's gripping his head in pain.

In the betrayal scene I realized that you can see the silhouette of Shadow Six sitting on the bridge (right there at the end beside the portal) And I think she influenced the six to betray the mono

I think I like the theory about shadow six being six’s soul more, but only because I get the feeling everyone links her nature with the weird stuff six does, but we never really see shadow six doing anything evil, other than her having a dark appearance, just like how we never see any of the other glitching remains do anything evil. God I wish another game could come out just so we could see what six ends up doing after leaving the maw. I also wonder if the reason shadow six is so active is because, unlike the rest of the glitches, shadow six knows she still has a body to return to.

I would like to see a game were we play as shadow six, maybe see her side of the maw arc. I always interpreted shadow sixes appearance as a disapproval of six feasting on the living. Not as a "nodding her" into doing it. Than again I only played the first part. Know what i gonna post this again as a main comment for further discussion

I have always thought of Shadow Six as the leftovers of the good that was in Six. If we notice, ever since the Thin Men kidnaps Six leaving her shadow behind, Six starts doing terrible things. But only after her separation from Shadow Six (she betray Mono, she won't help any child escape once she reaches The Maw, kills a Name, eats The Lady and kills all the Guests). I think that terrible hunger is due to a desperate need to reunite with that part of good that once was in her. But Shadow Six cannot come together, she is not a corporeal entity. All she can do is observe what Six is ​​becoming without her, helpless and unable to react. And when Six crosses the line by eating The Lady, becoming a real monster, Shadow Six dissolves. She ceases to exist; even the incorporeal presence of that little good that was left behind can no longer exist. It is assimilated by Six, becoming a pure source of darkness ending the transformation of the child.

Also remember, in the descriptions for Little Nightmares 2 and its characters, Six is said to be "fading from this word". Could this refer to the good side of Six, as each time Mono betrays her (from her perspective at least) more of her goodness dies and she is sent further down the dark path? In a way, the game is indirectly telling us why six does what she does through implication (becomes more Dark), and how the good side of Six slowly dies and fades away as six endures more trauma and makes more evil choices (eating the rat, the nome and then the Lady)

Overall I agree with your interpretation of shadow six, but I also think it has some metaphorical meanings of being her greed (of course though this can be interpreted any way you like ig). "being able to kill all these guests in an instant, if the lady could do that why would she need the maw", I think that the lady does annually kill the guests in the way in which six does as we are told that the guests leave one way or another. Sure the chefs chop up some of the guests as we have seen, but the lady is hungry for power and it makes sense for her to absorb the black smoke from the guests (perhaps to make the shadow kids seen in the dlc, or just to enhance her powers)

About the dark soul thing... Darkness isn't necessarily evil. It's dark, but plenty of heroic characters in fiction are associated with darkness (Batman, Bayonetta, Shadow the Hedgehog, Guts, etc.) Shadow Six actually seemed to be watching over Mono in her own way and never does anything to bring him harm... Most that she does is just stand there or guide him when he was running away from the Thin Man, but nothing malovent towards Mono. Darkness might just be the color of souls in this universe. Not an indicator of malevolence or anything, just how souls look.

A small part of me keeps thinking that Shadow Six, like the rest of glitching remains, is a product of the Tower. However, it has a purpose, and that is to manipulate Six into going to the Maw and killing the Lady, in the process getting rid of the last two people who are a possible threat to the Tower (Mono ends up the Tower's puppet, the Lady ends up dead, and Six ends up trapped at sea, possibly for the rest of her life).

I always think that Six's soul becomes darker the more she spent time in this nightmarish world. She started off wanting to help and befriend the Yellow Raincoat Girl but as time goes on, she becomes more distant from the light and focus on herself to the point of willing to do whatever it takes for her own survival. I like the first theory with some additions that I came up myself but your explanation and theory sounds more plausible.

From what we've seen so far shadows hide big secrets in the series. Like how the Nomes in the DLC of LN1 having the shadows of children, or the shadow children and glitched children in both games.

I have notice very interesting detail: All glitched remains are emitting eerie melody when Mono is nearby them (also, Mono himself starts to flicker a bit just like with Thinman's presence) When at the same time this isn't happening with "Shadow" Six, no melody nor flickering Mono. If Shadow Six was a curse from the Thin Man, why is she guiding Six to eventually eat/kill the Lady? He must hold a lot of grudges. lol I like the interpretation of a vengeful Thin Man better than the one where he couldn't bring himself to hurt Six. The force of his transmission not only cursed Six with Hunger but also created of her glitch remains an entity that would lead Six to eat her different version from the pervious time loop too (the Shadow led Mono to where the Thin Man was in the game too, so this is not far fetched).

I think that Shadow Six is the essence of the Signal Tower. Basically, whenever a glitch is left behind it's kinda like saying "the ST was here". By leaving its mark everywhere, it's basically acting as a roadmap leading to the children's destruction. The ST got what it wanted from Mono by leading him back to it, then it did likewise with Six by leading her to the Maw. Whatever this essence really is, it seems to want every child to occupy some empty space where they forever remain all alone.

Further evidence to support this theory is that at the beginning of little nightmares 2 Six doesn’t have the jacket which makes sense as she never retrieved it after the first game. I assume she traveled across the sea for a bit before being captured by the Hunter. Which leaves us to the Secret ending of Little Nightmares 2 and the beginning of little nightmares. The ending and secret ending aren’t different and rather the same ending as Six was always going to go through the TV screen and meet (Dark Six) and then travel to the Maw. To then at the beginning of little nightmares Six suddenly wakes up at the Maw solidifying the proof that The order is as follows. Very Little Nightmares. Little Nightmares 2. Then Little Nightmares. An overlooked detail is that I believe the developers purposely put the 2 there to hint in which order the games truly go and not to indicate a sequel.

This make me wonder, though I'm not sure if it has been disproven. Considering tarsier saying that the second game is a sequel and not a prequel. Despite the evidence in the game making it seem like prequel. Also there was a theory on her hunger, everytime she eats she gains something. When she eats the rat she knows all the paths a rat would take. When she eats the Nome she gains knowledge of the Lady's weakness and ergo gains the lady's powers after eating her.

I think Shadow Six is Six's soul, because she is straight up SEPERATED from Six in LN2 and the hunger crap along with the Mono betrayal only happen after Shadow six becomes a thing. (Also I nicknamed Shadow Six "Three" since if she is Six's soul, she is technically only half of six, and half of the number 6 is 3.)

Just wanted to add my theory on everyone after some digging. In Very Little Nightmares there is a scene where the Yellow Raincoat Girl has to get through a room where it seems to be stuffed animals tied to chairs and they’re being forced to watch tv. What if they were all actually children who were being programmed and were already lost to the signal tower and they’re not in different timelines they’re all on DIFFERENT CHANNELS and the 6 kids we’re aware of weren’t tuned in all of the way. In the beginning of Little Nightmares 2 we see Mono literally transport and fall out of a television so I think maybe he tuned into his own and that’s why Six has to leave him there. She’s literally seen it all play out. Maybe the kids are channel surfing to escape their programs?!

Why would the Lady need the Maw ? But what if it was the opposite, why would the Maw need (a) the Lady ? By the concept arts and renders of the Maw, the entrance ressembling a mouth agape with a simple face, hasit been theorized that in this world of nightmares the Maw could be a living entity like an Eldritch God or an Ancient One ? It doesn't need to be fully made out of flesh to be a living entity, reinforcing the eerie possibility of a contraption of flesh, materials, and darkness given form and life

But considering how popular she is, I don't think most of the fandom will take it well if she gets killed off. It'd be much better if we could reverse whatever changed her, find a way to knock her out first if necessary.

I have a personal theory that is kinda off the wall about Shadow Six, and the shadow kids in general- so hear me out. Shadows represent the Transmission. 1. People are being corrupted by the signal tower. This turns adults into monsters, viewers, or makes then commit the not alive. This one is pretty self explanatory, but I'll point out that kids are also effected judging from the powers our characters get, the mutated dead kid at the beginning of LN2, and how the kids seem to unnaturally fade as potentially caused by the Transmission mutation. Also, I think that the Transmission causes people to fixate on their dark compulsions or habits. 2. I think the Transmission is sustaining everyone under its influence, which includes the children. This one might need some justification, but I don't want to right a novel so I'll try to keep it short. Monsters without mouths can't eat but are still alive (patients, bullies, veiwers, etc). Monsters who are solely focused on their work likely lack the motivation to feed themselves as they would have to stop what they are doing or move from where they live (Shoe monster, Grandma, Teacher, Doctor, Janitor). Its stated that the Guests are eating without need, and I believe that its just their addiction like the Viewers have with the TV. Monsters who are around food or are shown eating (Hunter, twin chefs, Lunchlady?) don't do it out of a hunger or need to survive, more as a natural habit stemming from their obsession's or compulsions. 3. I think that when a kid gets pulled, the transmission no longer has a reason to stay attached to them The point of Thinman is to collect children and feed it into the tower. I don't know what happens to the kids, but I do believe that they are often killed outright as the transmission has less control over them. I think that when they are magic yoinked by Thinman, their connection to the Transmission is cut and it lingers like an afterimage when they die. I think this is a property linked specifically to Thinman, as we see no evidence of adults having Shadows left behind. So even though Six is still alive, the system reads the yoink as a kid being taken and (whatever they do to the kids) and leaves a shadow behind, but since Six is not killed- Shadow Six maintains some individuality as she is no longer fully attached to either Six nor Transmission, but they both are around. 4. Six only gets hungry after they separate. We spend a whole game with Six and she shows no sign of hunger. I think it's well understood that this separation is what causes her to have to feed. still worth pointing out that in this theory, she gets hungry because Thinman broke her connection to the Transmission which made her have to sustain herself. 5. The Transmission and The Lady have a complex dynamic. The lady is the only adult who does not have horrifying physical mutations. I believe she is the only adult outside of the Transmissions influence. Now whether this is due to some ability she has to conceal herself from it or, what I think is more likely, some agreement that was reached to allow her safety aboard the MAW provided certain stipulations, we can't know. Since she is not being influenced by the Transmission, she then has to provide for herself, which she does by the Guests. --more general ideas if you concede that this is true-- 1. The Lady and Six are the only two free people. As I said, I think the Lady is under some delicate arrangement with the Tower. Six still has the Transmission following her, but she was separated from it, as it stopped supporting her, but did so incorrectly due to the yoink. So while Six is free from the mutations that the Transmission would cause, she was already effected and cannot be rid of it entirely, as it always follows her around. She is her own person though, and has free will beyond anyone one else, even if she has a tiny voice in her ear figuratively. 2. The reason that Shadow points to the MAW is because it wants to Six to go there. Pretty obvious, but there can be a few reasons it might want this. It might want to try and replace the Lady with someone who is more easily influenced, it might want to drive her to insanity so that she somehow submits enough to be re-taken-control-of and knows that her hunger might drive her there. If it can't see the MAW, than this could be it's opportunity to infiltrate it as Shadow is not fully a part of the Transmission(Again, I think it's more an arrangement but maybe). 3. It shows up when Six eats. This is to show that the transmission is no longer supporting her, but also is not controlling her actions. This is a reminder that she is free, but this is the consequence. If there is a hope for reunification of Six and Shadow, this could also serve as a "I could make this better if you just submit". 4. Shadow isn't there when the Lady is consumed This is because whatever agreement already exists between the two powerhouses prevents Shadow from being in direct proximity. This gives a good explanation other than "its too dark to see her, but she's there". idk how to explain the ending, maybe she found some balance in the force or something, or maybe she just stole the Lady's powers and Shadow six has nothing to do with it.

Hi! I just wanted to add to your comment that Six’s biggest fear is becoming a monster. It’s never sat right with me that the only real evidence against Six being the lady is because the lady is ‘vain and only cares about her appearance’ when we don’t even know that for a fact. If Six’s worst fear was becoming a monster, couldn’t that maybe present another interpretation of the DLC? Maybe instead of the point being that the lady is ugly in the mirror, and that’s what she was afraid of, maybe it could be more about her seeing herself turn into a monster? I think there are way too many parallels between Mono and the thin man and Six and the lady for it to be brushed off so quickly.

Another theory I have is that Shadow Six is the product of the Lady's magic spell. It is confirmed that the Lady is casting a spell on the Guests that makes them hungry. So I think after Six escaped through the TV Shadow Six is hinting to the Maw like "Come and eat. You'll like it." I think that only Six can see Shadow Six in her mind. Mono only sees the glitching remain of Six because Shadow Six is not the same as the glitch. Maybe all of the guests are under that control. And when Six eats the lady shadow six isnt there because the Lady's spell isnt working on her anymore. I don't know what you think of that maybe I'm very wrong.

For those un sure. I’ll quickly go over the story to prevent any confusion. Very little nightmares is the beginning of the story. After the protagonist of the first game loses her jacket it drifts away to the main city where most likely another child used it before discarding it where six eventually finds it. To know this is ultimately making the assumption that LN2 is in fact a prequel despite what the devs told us. The events of LN2 make sense as (Dark Six) is only present from The second game to the main game Little Nightmares. We can confirm this as it makes sense as(Dark Six) is created by mono in LN2. This is also probably why Six betrays mono as she probably doesn’t want anything to do with her dark side. This could also explain sixes fondness of the music box as it’s probably the only thing keeping her from becoming completely evil. In her eyes mono is the bad guy. One key mistake people made was assuming six lost her jacket but the jacket was never hers to lose to begin with. It could also hint that the main protag from the first game is still alive and may be the reason why Six embarks on this journey in the first place.

One other explanation is that Shadow/Glitch Six is just an extension of the Thin Man's power. Shadow Six also acts very strangely with Mono (she acts like a child - whereas every other instance we see her is static and ominous). Also, after the music box is destroyed, Six doesn't act like herself at all during the escape (she acts like Shadow Six would). There is also a hint in Little Nightmares 1, chapter 2 (if i remember right), where Six can find a monitor hidden away (which has the eye symbol, same as the door that closes on Mono at the end). This monitor then basically shows Six where she needs to go and if you access a second time, it shows her the mirror that is used to kill the Lady at the end. Perhaps this is Mono/Thin Man helping Six from the signal tower. If shadow six was the one to drop Mono, and not Six herself, then one possible theory is that Shadow Six knows there is no escaping the eye as they are now. The only way is to leave Mono behind and make Six stronger so that she can brave the signal tower again. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a 3rd game it will involve the signal tower in some way.

if the signal tower can reach so far as to the hunters cabin and the whole city, whos to say it hasn't reached the maw? I'm sure there evidence of the signal towers powers reaching the maw so it sounds very possible that mono could have been helping six. what else would that room and the button be for? why would it show the things that it did? Also, in one of the DLCS, i belive the first DLC for the first game, we see the runaway boy go into that same room and view it. Through the screen you can see six crawling through the shoes, and also other different views that i cant quite remember, so if the thin man was controlling the screen then there had to be a reason that he wanted the runaway kid to see six venturing forth.

@@eggplantontoast Few other little details that some people miss. At the start of the game, Mono starts the game next to a TV, with multiple TVs in the background. This suggests that Mono is aware of his power and used the TVs to teleport to close to Six. He then avoids using his power again until Six is kidnapped. If we take the comic mobile app, chapter 5 (the Mono chapter), you can see him with other kids that are getting snatched up. This hints, to me at least, that Mono is used as a signal to the Thin Man/Signal tower that kids are available to be snatched up. Mono could of gone into seclusion in the forest to avoid this. Another fun fact - the cancelled comic series also shows us some of Six's character. She tries to befriend some kids and is shown to be suffering from some kind of amnesia. If this character flaw still stands, then this could reinforce that Six dropping Mono wasn't because of the music box but other powers in play.

@@eggplantontoast one last thing was in the DLC , when the runaway escapes at the beginning. Yoi have that shadow girl who provides the rope entrance for Six and leaves a flashlight behind. Curious why she was added. The devs could of easily had the runaway find a light and escape with a rope himself. Now, if that girl was a distorted child sent by Mono, then it could be a curious reveal in a later game.

The Maw IS the island, once it dives down into the depths of the ocean, it becomes a stationary Island with a big chimney on top. I mean think about it, why would Six wanna leave? The Maw is the only place in the entire world that has working time, and is an actual functioning ecosystem. The Pale city's residents are all replaced by mannaquins or bullies. The rest are the viewers who are already too far gone.

Six had to show the Lady her reflection EXACTLY 6 times to defeat her. Coincedince? I don't think so. Its like a fairy tale. Everything went to plan. The Lady gave up her life to her successor, Six. The 6th Lady. Edit : and to top it all of, do you realise when you finish LN2 you get Thin Man's hat, and its also the same way that in LN1 you get the Lady's mask after completing the game? This just confirms Six is the Lady.

I think dark six is simply a representation of six losing her innocence. She shows up when Mono leaves her to be caught, like too scared to help (betrayal) and shows up at the end when Six gets set to go to the maw. Throughout the Maw six makes the choice to eat based on survival. Dark Six shows up because there might be some pleasure in it, being sated. Each time though it’s not murder. Fast forward to the Lady, Dark six doesn’t show up because she’s made the choice that murder is an acceptable course of survival in eating the Lady. No more Dark Six.

I disagree with this idea _somewhat_ as I think Shadow Six _is_ part of Six, and has some tie to Six's shadow-ieness, whether it was always there or from the Lady (those light flickers when she eats earlier could for all we know be the Lady _seeing/sensing_ it and having an idea Six is coming for her next. She does know _everything_ that happens in her domain after all...) and I think it is something of her darkside or something akin to that, and is clearly wanting her to eat for whatever reason, but whatever else it means I leave open. I also agree that Six has gotten much more darker and colder as a person throughout the games, though I am not so quick to think she definitely betrayed Mono at the end, and I don't think he betrayed _her_ there with the Thin Man either. The breaking the music box part though yes, that one is much clearer, the others, like the time with the Thin Man and in the comics, to me feel like just reaching for reasons for Six to resent Mono when it isn't necessary. Mono had already shown he isn't in a good spot in some way after he emerges from the TV, and since the Thin Man is part of _why_ Mono was doing that in the first place, and he didn't seem to have any idea what to do until later of how to fight back, I cut him slack. Also, why would he even choose not to help her in the first place if he actually could've done something? He tried to rescue her immediately after, so him not helping one moment and trying everything, including facing the Thin Man, after that doesn't really make sense if he was being selfish. Being afraid of the Thin Man and not knowing what to do would explain it, as well as being incapacitated, much better. That said, I think you missed something _very_ important about the Lady, and misunderstand her character because of it. She wasn't weeping because of what she's done, her whole motive for running the Maw is to combat the "insanity" of the world she lives in and have somewhere she has control after all, rather than the Signal Tower or the Thin Man or anyone else. She was weeping because of how _ugly_ she looks in the mirror, and other mirrors, when her actual face is still beautiful (what that means is hard to tell, since one comic has mirrors that enable you to look differently if you want to, so the Lady might have used one of those to look beautiful now or beautiful like she _used_ to be if she's older than she looks, or her powers might be keeping her young and beautiful, or she's just a monstrous creature that wanted to look like she does now and the mirrors show the truth...) and the Lady doesn't really show any remorse without that interpretation. Also, if she were just remorseful, why did she get so mad at the Runaway Kid and turn him into a Nome? Answer, in my view, is that it was because he knew what she really looks like, and she hates seeing it _herself_ let alone letting anyone else see it. Also, souls don't really need to have a set appearance to indicate anything about them, this is a world of oddities after all, so it might still be her soul and it just is shadowy because she has shadow powers, or that it looks like that because of _how_ it was separated from her. That said, this is an interesting take, and plenty of thought put into it, so bravo!!

My theory on Shadow Six: i think she has always had this darkness to her, as does everyone, i think that through her experiences, she slowly embraces the darkness to survive, from personal experience I've found that the as someone suffers they become desperate to survive and willing to do anything it takes, i think this is what is happening to six, thus is the cause of her trauma. As for her betraying Mono, i think Mono didn't want to be saved, i think he felt guilty about not helping her, so he didn't let Six save him, and Remember Six is still a little kid and looks very malnourished so she probably isn't that strong, I also believe he didn't betray Six, i think he didn't save her from the long man because he was frozen in fear or perhaps his fight or flight or freeze kicked in and he froze as a defense mechanism, as for him breaking the music box perhaps he thought it would turn her back to normal. But thats just me, if you disagree feel free to comment as long as its respectful!😁

I think that shadow six is the corrupted version of six or thr glitchy remains of six, whose agenda is to take over the lady’s power and she knows that six can take over the lady’s power by eating her. Shadow six only cares about herself, so she leads mono to the signal tower to reduce six for her mission to be possible. Shadow six can also be the reason why six gets hungry in the first game, as six is nearing the lady, so to eat the lady, shadow six is preparing herself or powering herself by eating out her entities like the gnomes to eat the lady in the end to take over her power. Perhaps this is why shadow six accompanies six when she eats, because she is getting powered. This can also be justified in the secret ending of little nightmares 2, where shadow six points towards a picture of the maw indicating that six has to go to the maw to eat the lady. Idk why shadow six wants to take over the lady’s power, maybe revenge?

Great video and theory… However, I don’t believe that shadow six is evil or has a mind of its own. My theory is that upon getting in contact with the thin man children lose part of their soul and that is why we can see the shadow static children in the second game which may correlate with the children from the comics. Anyways, upon Six losing part of her soul she feels the hunger pains and need to absorb the soul(s) of what she consumes to replace what she has lost and that’s why gradually she converts from leftovers to a live animal(the rat), to a nome and finally the lady. However, upon eating the lady she may have absorbed not only the lady’s soul but the souls of those the lady has already taken just like we see Six do at the end of the game when she kills the guests and just maybe those souls were enough to regain or replace Six’s shadow. I like to imagine that shadow Six is/was more of a compass that guides Six to where she can consume these souls. [Disclaimer] This theory is well… just another theory don’t take anything I say at heart considering it may be wrong. Let’s see how it actually turned out hopefully in DLC or the next game.
