I think this movie will hit a billion, Sonic made over $300 million and Sonic 2 made over $400 million and that was during the beginning and tailend of the pandemic where many theaters were still closed and lockdowns were still in placed in many places. The Sonic movie are probably the best video game movie adaptations we've ever seen, fun for the whole family.

This works within the context of the movie universe perfectly well, and it seems them having their own version of these events clearly gives them more creative liberty! First thing, just like the last movie where they adapted the wasp/bee enemies, this time they adapted the crab enemy as Eggman’s secret base.
