It's so wholesome watching a couple reacting to their childhood franchise together! I personally think that Sonic offering his spike to Eggman as a trade for helping him beat Shadow, is a plot planned for the forth movie, for the Metal Sonic

Insider info and interviews states that they're in production for a standalone Shadow series (think Knuckles kinda). I'm assuming this is where Rouge will play a big role. There's a good chance she'll make a cameo in the Sonic 3 movie. Meanwhile, the Sonic 4 movie is in preproduction and they've stated that Amy Rose will have a large role to play in it. I'm assuming that for the Shadow series, they'll do the "OH SHIT I'M A CLONE!" plot for Shadow in Sonic Heroes, with Rouge and possibly a robot acting as supporting characters. In Sonic 4, Robotnik is inspired by his grandpa's creation of Shadow and he either finds Chaos or he builds Metal Sonic. This gives Amy a lot more presence and relevance to the plot, plus helps show Sonic growing up, which he has slowly done over the movies.

As someone who's second childhood game was SA2-It was Heroes that made me fall in love with Team Dark but especially one edgy boi-, I cried so badly that my dog was concerned and my husband still doesn't know what I was squealing over that phone call XD. It's our boy's year! He gets a game,he gets a 3 episode anime, he gets a manga and now he's taking center stage in what looks to be an epic movie,voiced by freaking Keanu!
