Shadow Systems XR920P - Monday Gunday

First time here. Overall nice review. I have the XR920P for two months now. About 3000 rounds in nightly COF’s. Compared to my G45 with ramjet I like the SS much better. The tolerances are tighter. Feels equal to ramjet. With the neutral backstrap I like the angle over the Glock. Cost wise, to trick out a G45 with same upgraded components is almost double, especially as you can find the XP for a few clams over one grand. The lighter weight is great for EDC. After initial break in absolutely zero issues with 124 and 147 gr. After many rounds the trigger is now around 4lbs. NO Glock knuckle. Toolless comp. My rating is 81.

Made my own long time ago. MR upper with Radian Ramjet and DR lower. Fits flush on frame and is a screamer. Cool they finally came out with this though.

If I didn’t already have an MR920 with a radian ramjet I would definitely get that. Shadows Systems have done a pretty good job on their guns. I expect them to continually take market share from Glock.

Have a staccato P x300 axis elite that I have been using for a few months. Just got my glock 19 ramjet x300 axis elite today. Ordering my staccato C x300 axis later this week. You guys make great reviews and even better holsters! I'm 5'3, 140lbs and with these holsters, everything just disappears!

How is a Zev at the top of your list? I've owned multiple Zev OZ9's & from the factory they are riddled with problems. I basically replaced every part in them to get them to run 98% reliably

Sorry you've had that experience! Were you able to go through their customer service to get problems fixed? We've had some issues with old V1 OZ9's but the new V2's have ran super reliably for us! I know of at least 4 that Aaron, Jared, and Billy Barton run all the time, collectively probably 25k rounds.

Good Review, I personally like SS Firearms but to me the price is a bit high for what it is. But then again, SS has historically been a bit high on their prices. I shoot primarily Walther PDP or PDP Pro SD firearms now and have put Herrington Arms Comps on my PDP Pro SD models and shoots better than a SS but when comparing SS to Glock, I like the feel and overall shooting experience better than the Glock comparable models

Great review. I just hit 1100 rounds out my SS920P Elite. With a mix of ammo, grains, brands, JHP, and FMJ. I used six different Glock 17 magazines and had not one issue.

1100 is just past the break in. My Springfield Prodigy is around the same, but I fucked up the sear by accident and ended up having to have the internals replaced and now it's at around 500~ (I let other people shoot it with me from time to time) and I need another 500 without cleaning before it's off the sell list. PS. My carry gun has about 2500~ I kinda stopped counting after 2k becuase the little P365 platform doesn't quit, and the previous P365 made it to 1500 before I bought a second that was meant to be an experiment, but it proved itself reliable in the first range trip with 500rds and 0 failures.

The XR920P will fit in the DR920 holster (or essentially any G17 or longer holster)

Have you tried running the gun without the kagwerks slide release? The enclosure of the slide release is way better than it is on glonk brand glonks, so i've found the kagwerks to be pretty much wholly unnecessary. The tactical triggers kit is without a doubt the way to go.

My only issue with Shadow Systems is the fact they are hit or miss on reliability. I get that people don't like the Glock grip angle, but at least I know what I am getting if I choose to go with Glock or Smith.

10 years ago this is a $3000.00 gun. Let there be no doubt. I have had several custom Glocks built and non with comps so there is that.... This is a steal if it runs like a Glock? Retail they are at 950.00. Glock has really lost control of a market they HAD full control of, pathetic.

I’ve got one with a barrel that can’t group consistently. I can take a Glock and punch a hole out of target easily at 15 yards but be lucky if the shadow hits the target

You forgot to mention the replacement part of the warranty. If you get into a justified shooting, they will replace your gun. Because who knows how long law enforcement will hold your gun. That was what sold me on this company.
