Thank you for delivering a very timely video. This one really hit me especially over the ideologies we project. I’ve been contemplating and meditating since yesterday about this . Once again I’m seeing a replay happening in me and this helped me recognize it . Sorry I don’t have Apple TV but your husbands movie does look like a good one .

The overall theme I am picking up here is a dualistic unconscious pattern of thinking in terms of the self orients with the shadow. Which when applied to the integral holism of reality as it is, seems to perpetuate a never-ending dance of value judgement driven corrections, or additions in one aspect (part) of the self, with reductions or perhaps corrections in another aspect of the self. There are indeed 'two' contrary forces at work here at all times. The will to receive and the will to bestow. For example, I myself have a tendency to be judgmental. However, when I am fully aware and accepting of this, I have a choice. I can attempt to flee or escape from this in the spirit of dualistic or reductionist thinking (believing such a quality to be 'bad') and try not to be this way. Or, I can accept and integrate this quality, then begin to work with it to inspect, refine, and purify this quality so that the judgement takes on the quality of more expanded awareness and subsequently more connected and not so reductionist. In other words, judgement which accounts for both the potential for ignorance and enlightenment in the same process. Since judgement rendered wisely and carefully is a process which takes time, deliberation, and open discussion. So we must account for the specific qualities of judgement itself, and not just presume that a thing is necessarily good or bad. Such dualism about any given subject is not helping any of us. Even if we refer to judgement in the colloquial sense, we still need to discuss the specific topic of that which is being judged. For judgment can be done rightly or wrongly, but it depends on each particular circumstance. I would agree that hasty judgments are probably what is the general understanding. To summarize what this excellent video brought out for me; To integrate should hopefully lead to transcending the dualism of good and bad or self and other, and realizing a more connected sense of being. To which the fundamental essence of reality seems integrally connected and not so separated and reductionist at all. Moving toward such an understanding and way of being in the world may bring us into a new paradigm and help us out of this collective Janus sort of state we are currently in. BTW, Richard's movie, Room 0 looks pretty cool!

Yes! Exactly! And judgment can be reframed and exalted into discernment. A lot of Shadow Work has to do with discovering how all things are perfect at their core. And when this happens, you can exalt the “negative” qualities into their most positive analog. It’s similar to how, in the movie “The Dark Crystal” the movie doesn’t end with good triumphing over evil… but good and evil combining to create something similar to, different from, and exalted from the original two poles.
