Well, I write a full outline ahead of time like I'd be writing an essay in high school, so yeah... it's a video essay series :) If I had the talent to do a podcast on my own, that'd be what I was doing, but I lack that talent!

I think one of the better weapon options for a new Fighter is the spear. Having weapon mastery on a thrown weapon gives you a better chance to hit on a ranged attack than you would if you had to switch to a longbow and doesn’t require taking your shield off to do it. Plus they’re dirt cheap at 5s a piece.

An interesting choice for a fighter that wants to have a high AC, to go with a high DEX score and chainmail and shield, or if they would be better off with plate and shield. It makes for an interesting choice

I think if you're fortunate enough to that high dex the chain/dex combo is better than plate. Right? Am I matching correctly? :)

Thanks, some nice thoughts. We have all but the archer in our group. The higher AC build seems more survivable than the 2handed weapon punisher build. As the current DM for our Shadowdark games I have players roll a character by rolling 3d6 put in an Attribute Repeat 5 more times. They need to decide where to put a roll as it occurs so do they put the 15 in their main Attribute or hope for a higher role But more importantly it's a game and if someone wants to play a wizard then why should they be forced to play a fighter for the next few months because they roll an int of 6 and a str of 17

We've done our current campaign 3d6 in order, with the Shadowdark rule of letting a player reroll the set if they don't have at least a 14. So long as the entire group agrees to that kind of play, it certainly has its place. But if someone is dead set on playing a particular class I've always made it work.
