I'm Brazilian, so I think learning Japanese is easier when speaking Portuguese, because the phonetics is almost the same. I have no problem saying anything in Japanese because of that. My biggest problem really is getting used to the order of sentences.
@notcyfhr Жыл бұрын
does Portuguese have any pitch accent because Japanese is a pitch accent language even if you can produce all the phonetics fine also the speed natural Japanese is spoken at is very fast.

So many years studying Japanese at 3 different universities and online schools and this is the first time I've heard of this very useful technique!!! 本当に勉強になりました!
@momochichiify10 ай бұрын
I guarantee you 100% you were doing it at some point just didn’t know what I was called. Even repeating after a teacher would be shadowing
I loved your channel! Shadowing is a great technique to practice speaking when you don’t have a speaking partner.

I find shadowing Japanese a little difficult. I still have a hard time picking out individual words to repeat.
@JapaneseLanguageCulture4 жыл бұрын
Ganbatte! Little by little is fine. :) this is another type of exercise, different from just memorizing words. No need to understand exact meaning of each word in a sentence. Keep it up! 😃
@MrHitotsumusha4 жыл бұрын
Stick with it and keep practicing. Listen to the ones you found difficult again and re-do it until you can say it smoothly. Shadow it slow first, then practice speaking that tough word or phrase more smooth as you go. I'm not fluent in Japanese but my understanding in many situations is pretty solid and in certain situations people tell me I sound pretty fluent. Listen to the contents, as what (Japanese Language & Culture) sensei said, don't worry about understanding everything. It's a different muscle. In the end practice about 10-15 minutes a day. Don't overdo it, it's a tough exercise to do but extremely helpful.

There are a few factors in how to understand Japanese easily . One place I found which successfully combines these is the Fergs magic blueprint (look for it on google) without a doubt the most incredible treatment i've seen. Look at the extraordinary info .
@sheepleslayer5863 жыл бұрын
Don't know if you figured it out.. but, don't pick the sentence you repeat.. Just start simple, like anime intro songs of something short on KZbin in Japanese about something you like. Just start at the beginning, and learn the whole video, so pick a short one to start. Look up some of it and start to understand what you are listening to while saying it.

i have no idea i can speak english before because i learn it when i was younger eventho it is my third language . now when i am about to start learning japanese , i find it very hard ....
I have a friend who is advanced level in Japanese. When we have conversations in Japanese he uses a lot of kanji which is a good thing. Cause I learn a lot but sometimes I can read the kanji. Which is surprisingly shocking cause I only learn from textbook but even though I never seen the kanji I can still read it. I am going back to learning japanese again until I have mastered it fully. Sensei ganbaru ne!

I really like shadowing, but I have a problem finding the right technique. Whenever I start to shadow, my own voice drowns the sound I’m shadowing. I’ve tried noise canceling headphones and it’s better, but I still can’t hear the audio properly. Any suggestions, anyone?
@marcellacarta27663 жыл бұрын
First of all thanks a lot for your advices, they are really helpful :) if I can I would like to ask you a thing... You said that shadowing it's good to improve speaking skills, but I was wondering if it can be useful even for those people that can really understand everything of what have been said.... If I shadowing even without to understand extaly the meaning, can I learn how to speak, or not? Thanks a lot for your help.

Of course it works! Get used to the speak Japanese and make your mouth ready for the natural Japanese speaking speed. Good luck!

This seems like a powerful tool but I still find that people speak too quickly for me to copy. Also, my comprehension of the language is not that great yet.
Hello Sensei, I am just started to do Japanese Shadowing recently, my case is quite an opposite situation, I can quite easily speak to Japanese by my expression but ear cannot get it out .... any suggestion for me to improve myself by Shadowing? Thank you very much
