Yeah, I definately like the 2H because I always main the Blood DK and getting two 1H weapons just for Frost spec just for PVP always was somewhat pain in my ass. So it's really cool that I can now play my favorite DPS and PVP specs more easily.

yup, and now in raids for SL we get gear tokens instead of the actual weapon drop in the raid, so no more praying for that specific sword or chest, we now get to pick which one we receive at our covenant

Yeah and we can use that same weapon in PvE also with Frost and Unholy. I like the idea that I do not have to have a whole arsenal of weapons and I can go with just one if the stats are right.

Whats your thoughts on scaling ? Will Frost in either form be competitive throughout the expansion ? Or will it be left to the wayside and be the Windwalker Monk of Windwalker Monks? Just curious cause seems like with multiple damage sources hitting for so little and relying on crutch stuff just to function...

The rice handed does have big hits but your also keeping pressure with that off hand swing. I've been duel wielding forever and the burst is nuts. And like he said just smash all gear into master. No reason not to because all your skills will use it

As someone who made a frost dk recently for the sole purpose of playing 2H in SL, the more I see about the spec the more I feel like dual wield is the way to go. 2H requiring manual build up of razorice and also taking almost 30 seconds to reach max stacks seems to go against the meta of fast, bursty paced arenas.

@@darksword1337 yes, I can see in 3v3's or pairing up with a healer in 2s could make the games longer, but in reality, everything regarding PVP in this next expansion seems to be about fast paced games. There's going to be a lot of rogues, hunters, and shadow priests next season looking to melt us before we even have a chance to get 5 stacks up. (30 seconds to build up if EVERYTHING goes perfect. Thats not counting getting CC'ed, LOS, missing GA off CD by a few seconds etc.) I guess come SL we will see how it all turns out. I personally will be playing whatever is best instead of living or dieing with only 2H

Yeh I really really don't like the having to spam glacial to stack, feels awful.. Are the other talents that far behind in terms of damage? Assuming if you don't play glacial you'll actually be putting out more frost strikes due to more RP?

If you don't play glacial you will get wrecked by a frost dk using it hands down. 15% frost damage on your entire toolkit is massive. Everything doesn't need to go perfect. If stacks fall off, you have poor management. No CC will stop you from applying 5 stacks with a 30 second counter. Frost strike is a filler with very minimal damage. Again, if your team allows you to get nuked in less then 30 seconds, they suck. Find a new team. Shadowpriest only nuke if someone is not intelligent enough to dispel mindgames. Rogues only one shot with broken pve trinkets that are currently not balanced. Hunters can be mitigated.

@@darksword1337 yes I agree that glacial is needed if running 2H, you can't give up that 15% increased frost damage. However, I dont agree that if someone dies in the first 30 seconds of combat (not the start of arena) that they suck 🤔. Here's some examples straight from your last arena video where it was 2v2s. Timer starts when combat starts: Killed warlock in 12 seconds Killed Priest in 29 seconds Killed warlock in 16 seconds I played around 1500 arena matches last season and everything I've seen regarding shadowlands arenas so far has shown that the games are much more fast paced. Thats why I'm thinking the build up of getting glacial stacks may be hard before someone dies on either team. Obviously I'll see once SL releases. Just some thoughts. Thanks for the videos as always

Solid stuff man. Any opinions on how frost vs arms will do in terms of damage output and viability? I've been stuck between frost, survival, and arms for a main and having a hard time choosing. Sort of lost hope on frost after seeing the nerfs.. but also seeing 13k crits (8:25 in the video) on beta with frost 2h makes me think if it was that good, wouldn't FOTM players be swarming to it since 13k is half of someones hp?

I like the idea that you can play both, 2H and DW, just to switch things up a little from time to time, even better if the playstyle changes a little and your damage output is based on a different ability.I always imagined 2H damage to be based on obliterates, while DW being based on either Frost strike or general frost damage across all spells. P.S. Really sad for FDKs now on pre-patch, they literally do no damage..., makes me feel bad every time i see them just drop dead from every other class/spec.

Yee generally they have their own ways of being strong but, that wall has gotten much thinner with the mastery scaling of obliterate.

they will both be good, frost looks like its going to have big burst windows, while unholy feels like it breaks your enemy down overtime. I will be playing both, theyre both really fun.

i think glacial advance needs a little change. either it cost less runic power and the CD stays or whats better its stays at 30 runic power and the CD gets lowered maybe to 3 sec. really love playing with that skill but its a bit to slow in my opinion

It takes waaaay too long to stack up that Razorice which is bad design imo, I feel like Glacial Advance should just apply 5 stacks of Razorice, cost more RP and have a longer CD (also better visuals c'mon Blizz). Either that or just turn it into a frontal cone and make it apply a stack per target hit, making it work similarly to Blood Boil with Hemostasis.

I think i missed what runeforge you use on the 2H weapon? Razorice on 2H would still stack it up pretty fast without the need of glacial advance or am i missing something :D cheers!

At least it isn't execute anim where they still swing with both arms as though they're dual wielding. If they speed it up just a tad it'll prevent the weird clipping, but you don't get animation locked in WoW, so it's negligible tbh

@@BasedChadman no I totally get what you mean. But the ability name is ‘Obliterate’. It’s meant to look terrifying and killing-like. You just get a slower warrior Slam animation that probably due to latency doesn’t even display the damage number at the right time. Old animation was quick and swift, fitting smoothly into your cooldown rotation. Even though it looks like execute you’ve got to admit that’s the perfect animation for it, a blow to the neck of the enemy slashing downwards.

@@potatoe1975 Slam should be sharing the same animation as frost strike, which is race dependent. Oblit shares the condemn covenant ability animation which is new to the xpac and looks better to me with a 2 hander. Just a matter of opinion at the end of the day
