Given the caliber of the English cast (Neon and also Ancie), the option for the JP voices, voiced music/representation for existing and fake games (including JP only titles) and how easy is to get into... This could really work as a gateway drug into the gameography of Inti Creates especially if they find a way to include more IP but also into similar games. The inclusion of Flameifrit which isn't out yet and was also announced on April Fools is a stroke of genius. I already played the demo on Switch so I already had one concern there with the text being a bit on the small side but didn't have an issue with anything else (I may change if I become a PC gamer proper), so I may double dip at one point or another though I'd prefer if Inti were also on GoG for PC.

It actually was only trademarked as an April Fools joke. It was made real due to popularity of the idea.

The battlefield looks like Battle Network but the way the Cards work is more reminiscent to Star Force's Battpe Cards as opposed to Battle Chips.

After complete the game this can really break the game in half. Just use the 0 cost muse with rush generate card and 0 cost power up. Your rush will do up to 200 damage and break very quick.

I've been playing the demo a lot (lol $ for the full version). I could do without the oppressive weeb waifu strats and overabundance of battle banter (just have the card you play talk, not a bunch after each play), but otherwise just having a good jam of a time. Some day I'll get the full version, maybe. Also, I wish there was an option for not changing the music when muses happen. Those songs are usually good, but the default battle theme is such a bop.

Does anyone know how long this game is in total? I don't know if that's mentioned in this review or not. I haven't seen any review so far that's mentioned it.

I'd say it's probably around 20 hours if you just do the normal mode runs of each dungeon, with maybe a couple repeats to level up and collect some cards. If you want to push into the higher difficulties (Hard 1-9) and the couple postgame dungeons, that'll obviously add a ton.

As far as we know, it's just Neon for playable characters.

He doesn't have any innate abilities, everything is based on the cards, so the only thing that would be different with a different character might be the starting deck, which I think varies by dungeon anyway. The variety in play mostly comes from different dungeons having a different pool of cards and muses.
