sniping cases usually accept the fingerprints on the gun as ‘evidence’. makes sense as it proves that the gun belongs to the murderer. I’ve tried it several times, it always works for me :)

Yeah, I’ve learned the hard way you always need to get the killer’s print and then scan the evidence. Miss either step and the evidence won’t count.

Haven't played in a while. The main turnoff for me was the world generation not working correctly 3 times in a row, causing parts of buildings to generate without floors and walls and stuff. I'll probably give it another try now, though, as I have a feeling they've likely ironed that bug out of the algorithm, or at least made it less common.

Not sure if they changed it or not, but hopefully the sniper cases aren't always shot from someone's apartment. Like a smart sniper would find places that aren't their home to snipe people. :) Would make the cases even harder

spoilers for the end of the vod: 3:56:23 I got one frame of the gun shot and KZbin hard cut to an ad I hate ads but sometimes the stars align for some good comedy the only way it could have been better is if it was one of those ads for that quick draw concealed carry holster thing

i have had a snipe case were the sniper was on the roof of a 2-3 story building, and victim was on the street. hardest case ever because the body kept vanishing. had to Minority Report that shit.

It's very slightly buggy, but honestly not bad at all. It's perfectly playable. It's quickly become one of my favourite games of all time - the quality of the game makes it worth a couple of tiny bugs that'll get ironed out in the next few months. It would have been strategically better to fix them before releasing the game though!

@@Dovarcraft I have the same issues. It seems like many bugs from the early access versions are still in the game. I even have a gamebreaking bug, that entirely softlocks the game which can only be fixed by restarting.

The first murder happened in Johnson Terrace, while the apartment is in Price Terrace, so sadly it's not the same apartment, though it's the same layout^^

Been replaying this game today after a 5 month stop, created a new medium city with the tutorial case and all. So far the things I noticed: 1) optimization has improved since early access. I used to have FPS drops in the open. They still happen but nowhere nearly as often and they are nowhere as serious as before. 2) The "Dead of night" tutorial case seems to be bugged: when you talk to the person that is supposed to give you the key to your new apartment, you don't get the key unless you have the murder case selected. The dialogue is there, you just don't get the key at the end of it (luckily I didn't "close" the case after handing it in the city hall). 3) I have a weird bug where the icons in the dashoboard becomes insanely big. Like, I have to zoom back all the way to have them normal sized like Insym has. I was trying to decor my new apartment and the decor tab was halfway off screen. Saving, closing and reloading the save fixed it. Right now I just started my very first kidnap case (first time I do this).

Before the update using a fingerprint near the window the sniper shot from (in the killer's appartment) has counted for me as evidence from the crime scene

iirc, with sniper cases the way I would typically get the "evidence" is by scanning the rifle for prints whether it's in the apartment or on the person. Hasn't failed me so far.

Maybe the evidence at the crime scene is a picture of the bullet hole in the window? Maybe a picture of the bullet casing before picking it up?

Yeah, man, my brother, respectfully, I didn't watch most of this. I thought at 1:30am like, oh I'm gonna put this on until I get sufficiently sleepy and then I'll go to bed, and then I woke up at 5:40am at about 4 hours in and I caught a smidge of anything in said 4 hours. hey insym, has anyone mentioned how much the story of the game sounds like a ShadowRun like scenario? (its a table top game) basically a machine vrs magic role play setting where mega corperations rule most cities, governing powers are kind of dead lol and each mega corp has its own military outfit to police things

The npcs on this game are crazy, they shot you for anything. I still think that it is crazy that you can't just show a badge to investigate and get fingerprints

You're not a police officer, you're a private detective so there is no badge to show. Which means you're actually breaking the law everytime you go into somebody's apartment, the city just lets it slide when you solve the case.
