Great character moment: Monty (as River) describes how the tiny shards transformation of Horus and the horror @ the farm are things that are happening every day in Drakkenheim... Rudys reaction - "Every DAY?!?" Wilhelms reaction - "Another good reason why that place should be left to burn..." Rafaels reaction - "Fascinating! " Great job by the cast in a snap moment of portraying their characters personalitys and mindsets!

It works really as podcast because of the small party, though I watch it on KZbin when I can. Overall, the excellent storytelling, the respect between the players and the DM, and everyone giving each another space has made this the best campaign I've ever seen. I'll be following this new season for sure!

While they seemed to have taken the delirium from it and Horace seemed to be the "phylactery" of the local monsters, I did note that... I wonder if Monty will make it a plot point later. Many such campaigns feature trouble on the homefront later down the storyline - maybe that's where it'll come from.

*Listens to the plan to fool Horace* *Watches it get carried out* This... this can only end poorly. *Sees the conclusion* ...I can't believe you made it as far as you did. You guys are phenomenal at this... *Sees **1:00:00** onward* Aaaaaand here's the fallout. I don't think the party had a long rest, either. (They didn't.) This will be rough. *watches up to **1:19:00* ...or not. You dealt with poor Horace quite efficiently. At least he's at rest, as Joe put it. Also, it's good to see River coming back, and in typical fashion, you love to hear so many references to the previous campaign packed in so few minutes. Hopefully, we'll be able to see both the old party of Drakken-Force and the new party of the Dusk Wardens come together... though that would be an RP nightmare for the team, since they'd be playing two very different characters each. Also liking the idea of this team exploring Westimar as a whole instead of being locked to a single city. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

"... and I'm Joe O'Gorman, playing Raph, the Mouthful!" Alternatively, Raph the living character creation menu. Only thing I could think of during the appearance modding scene. Almost a shame about Horace (I still like Horus as a version~), but it was fairly clear from the start he was too far gone and the situation wouldn't end with him staying alive and functional if not for some crazy lucky rolls - and those were not on his side, alas. Could have been interesting, but it is how it is. Still, was interesting to see that fight - and notable that all of the obscene monsters got disintegrated when Horace got taken down. A fitting segue into the main body of the campaign with River there, too. Yay for low-fantasy+dark-fantasy road trip quest campaign! Going to show HotDQ how it's done - this is a much more interesting setup and deal than that railroad. This sounds like a proper fantasy purpose-driven trip - you'll be traveling down towards an objective, but not like a train with a breakneck timer set, and rather an actual trudge down that path, dealing with everything. A great change of pace and style from Drakkenheim - from a large city that essentially functioned like a megadungeon to some extent, a static location explored back and forth, and into a vast country mostly of wilderness and scattered towns and villages and farmsteads between which the party will go, if I gather the idea correctly. Going to be like a dark and hardcore yet lower-stakes version of Avatar Last Airbender, in a way. Also, essentially forming the B-team here - the Drakkenforce are power players now, while these go sniping after threats that can't be ignored but which those bigwigs' power levels would be wasted on dealing with. Sounds like a sensible arrangement, very adventure-friendly and cool and everything. And honestly? Monty, you should not only publish the standalone Drakkenheim City campaign book, but keep on adding on to the setting and publishing it as extra books (please include digital downloads, for my sake! Best option for me, easier to do my own printouts when need will arise). Taking together all the influences you have on your worldbuilding for this campaign realm, honestly, it feels like the long-awaited and even better replacement for the Warhammer Fantasy world, now that GW themselves have put the kibosh on that. A world that hits all the fitting bits and marks Warhammer Fantasy's does, great for urban and country low/dark-fantasy adventures both, and also coming without too much franchise baggage that Warhammer now suffers from. I would play a campaign in your world rather than in WHF, 's what I'm saying. If you put in the effort to make this a thing, you'll be able to fill in this niche very well - I'm not kidding here, there's definitely a good place for your world in the firmament of fantasy TTRPG settings. In this regard, the "Duskwardens" sound like an excellent "adventure guild/ranger faction" of monster hunters-peacekeepers of sorts for that area, and this campaign would work like an origin story for them... depending on how it develops, that is. P.S. Rudi continues to rule the (unintentional?) lewd joke roost. Keep it up. Actually feels like a nice trait for her to infrequently drop a line that sounds quite different when you remember how many kids she has.

Dude this episode is a perfect example on why a Drakkenheim guidebook would be AMAZING! Because in this episode (those that have watched season 1) we see a return of a well-liked character, and we get background as to what she has been doing this whole time, and while season 1 was 'playing out' as it were. And we get a very clear and extreme example on how and why it matters which factions "win". Without season 1's events, the Amethyst Academy wouldn't have this semi-global reach and "freedom" as it were to set up this fantastic vanguard-esque force, and watch the goings-on of the world and be informed of this. And that kind of echo of results is AMAZING. I love seeing the world expanded and the results of it, and how the choices have impacted this far. But besides all that gushing, this seasons itself is also already very great! The characters are very interesting and complex, and I love seeing how different they are from season 1. Well done guys!

It's basically like where the Western setting "originally came from", the medieval Europe-style wilderness country setting. Shire reeves (sheriffs) as the only local power, scattered settlements among imposing woodlands harboring dangers known and only speculated about, armies marching across the land every generation or even more often. Wild West's personality/character archetypes are direct descendants of those times.

Monty said Horace wrapped the big delirium rock in his cloak when he was tricked into that. Then, when they dealt with the rock again, they still had it wrapped. Therefore, the cloak was still on it and they got it, and we can only surmise it's nonmagical since it did nothing fancy. And, as others said, it most likely weren't magic items that gave Horace all the powers, it was delirium.

Question: I've been with this epic group for over a year. Just wondering if we might get to a point where the two story lines meet up? Or, is Dungeons of Drakenhiem officially over? Request: Please, I formally request (eventually) an epic ending where the accumulated members (PC's) all meet to deal with the ultimate threat. Even if this conculsion would be 3years down the road it would be worth it.

I'm hoping it'll be like the sepiroth boss fights in FFVII when you can split between two groups of three to fight him. Alternating sessions between groups and they both approach their goals.

@@ashleyhoughton8592 That would work Ol'Monty pretty good ha ha. Maybe, we'll get to see him break a sweat yet. Either way, the climatic ending will surely be legendary, written into the tomes of Arcanists all acrossed Toril.

It was deceitful at first, indeed, but our party truly did make an effort to make the best of, and put to rest all of the unhappiness the delirium has caused. I award Raphael inspiration for how he finished Horace.
