I love how in most social encounters Wilhelm starts off so confident, some kind of hick up happens, (noting not many patrons, and barkeep noting it's still morning), then almost becomes a bumbling fool afterwards. Great RP Kelly!

You guys have put together a wonderful show that is, among many other things, a great way to learn how to play and DM Dungeons and Dragons. What I like best, however, is that, from the first to the last minute, it is so obvious how much you enjoy spending time together and playing the game - to me, that is what DnD is really all about. ...and I absolutely love that so many of the towns and characters both in DoD and SoD have German names! :) Greetings from Regensburg, Bavaria, the Holy Land of Bier and Dirndl!

I love it that Kelly is using rules...I know I'm behind on these, but I had a Gloomstalker Ranger Shifter who used rule set by his mother. I used the Gibbs rules from NCIS...I love it!

I want to give Monty a big High Five! I can litterally name the H.P. lovecraft books he used for some inspiration. (2 Books so far.) Hope there is a quiz lol. Seriously though, the integration of themes, world building, and role play makes Monty an Icon as a DM. Not to mention he has the best group ever. It also reminds me vaguely of the one setting I can't stop talking about: Ghosts of Saltmarsh. The Warlock and EK remind me of parts of my group, except Blood Hunter instead of EK. Being a swashbuckler theme, Willhelm fits right into my heart lolol

3 so far ;) Monty and myself are huge lovecraft fans and when we originally conceptualized this season that was a major conversation. To small towns on the outskirts, the events in Drakkenheim, and the monsters it created, are entirely Lovecraftian.

I did not choose the barn life - the barn life chose me. It's duckin' hard, I tell ya. It's a really nice situation you set up there. A town that almost seems like nothing too much at first, but has several layers of interwoven life threads going on, some less innocuous and self-contained than others. Digging deeper down into things, there's clearly something shady going on, and the Reformation war is making its first steps in the background - great atmospheric feel. Also have to really commend you for setting the second campaign like this. Much as I loved the city-megadungeon deal, what it lacked for compared to this is NPCs and locales which were not necessarily in the same situation as the rest of them, with opportunities for different little local subplots. In Drakkenheim itself, everyone was stuck in the same pot and dealing with the same plot, but here, even with an overarching couple of plots (the Haze and the fantasy Reformation war), there's lots of room for different NPCs, new towns and locations for them to inhabit, and local flavours aplenty. On the audio note - usually I don't hear the audio effects and music but you come through clearly; this time, the recording picked up the music and audio but you felt quiet in comparison. I'd suggest boosting your voice volume/reducing that of the effects, at least as an experiment for next uploads.

So I'm keeping close tabs on this new campaign but I'm really kind of holding off until you get about seven or eight episodes in so I can binge-watch a good portion of it and get all excited and ready for what comes next. Loved Dungeons and already hooked on Shadows but could you tweak the volume mix. I really struggle to hear Monty sometimes

The intro mix is also a bit strong, I usually turn down my headphones when it comes on. However, this is a major improvement over rarely being able to hear the background music in Campaign 1.

We are actively working on it. We’ve invested a lot in to audio gear, Monty is generally quiet but this episode we had some struggles, we tried to boost it in post, hopefully we can work out the issues for future episodes. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@@DungeonDudes make sure the mic is omnidirectional. It will help with when he looks away. If you're getting some buzz when you boost the gain then try a ground lift (I'm assuming xlr is what you're using, they sell xlr female to female adapters with a single ground switch of you can put it through a direct input box).

I would love to see maps of the area of westemar that Shadows exists in if such maps are available. And maybe one of the larger area that includes illiria and all that. Ah, so Bruce can fly? It is a flying cat? Cool! Wilhelm was so daring to jump to the monster in almost complete dark. Also keep in mind that with darkvision trait you can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray (so even Bruce can see only shades of gray in the dark).

It could be a tressym - they are mentioned in the module "Storm kings thunder" and it specifically states that they can be summed by the find familiar spell if the DM allows it. They are flying cats, who are really good at detecting poisons and they can see invisible creatures.

Helps the session flow, without getting it derailed just because a specific result or sum of the dice happened to land on an encounter that's sure to clash.

Overreact a barbearion one turn rage type. Use your bonus action to over build your next reaction. If it's a saving throw you make it with advantage ignoring the prone effect blindness and confusion If you attack you make 4 attack's with disadvantage.If your hit with a ranged damage dealing spell you take an additional 4 HP damage for every 5 feet between you and it's source appearing based with that castor,object or other attacking it 4 times with disadvantage creating a wind tunnel spell effect following you.You have to target archer's for the same effect though.

Oops almost forgot if you do not use it in a number of turns = to your wisdom you either choose to spend a turn throwing a fit or you take one level of fatigue damage.(all worked up with nothing to wreck)

IMO 15 years is too big of a time span for the effects of delirium to go unnoticed and people of towns with FlameKeeper and Mage academy should be better protected considering the information network available to them. I can assume 4-6 years would be proper, accommodates the war and people being caught unaware from the effects of delirium because as years increase, deformation would be more noticeable, birth defects would increase if delirium is as wide spread as it is in Schaffburg, the economy post war should take off again as traveling would increase and merchants passing through and sharing news of towns so I think Knight Guards and Nobles would take notice and establish command, Flamekeepers and Amethyst academy taking heed and mobilize instead of it taking 15 years. The Amethyst academy representative 'River' seem to unconcerned and casual about the repercussion brought about by the stone being found and corrupting the lands. Only towns that are less traveled and very isolated within forests or town with just fallen fire should be the most affected with entire populations ending up like Resident Evil 4. Town like scaffburg which was lively falls inbetween routes should have been more cautious. Fallen fire in Schaffburg gives an inkling but it would have faced friction from Amethyst and local Nobles.
