at 23:10 when you made the musician an enemy and for followings strangers, you can't take a random loot token: from the rulebook When a hero defeats a Stranger that has their Enemy token on it, option a. must be chosen for the Loot and for the Rumour Step. Dead Strangers reveal no secrets! (option a is taking the gold value)

I can't help thinking that the loot tokens look bland compared to the rest of the game. Anyway, once it get translated, it will most probably join my game of Gloom :)

8:45 - I think ,after confront , study test before fighting is unnecessary , as per rules book "The encounter will have values in on or more atrributes - Fight, Study,Sneak, or Influence. To defeat the encounter , the hero choose one of these atrributes and performs a Test against it."

You can spend an action point to become hidden. This allows you the option of evading enemies or attacking them with surprise (you get to roll an extra die in the first round of combat)

Great video as always. Are you playing Tiger Form right? You are choosing Confront and then invoking Tiger Form. Yet Tiger Form states you can only spend AP in Tiger Form on Move actions. Isn’t your Confront an AP action when it isn’t an Enemy?

Great question! So from how I understand it, since going into Tiger Form is a Deed (Viel) action you can do it at anytime. So I do the confront action, and then turn to Tiger Form, providing the +2 dice for the rest of the round. However, I cannot do any other types of actions other than move after this. That is why I only go to Tiger form with my last action, or during the final confrontation with the Ancient. Hope that helps!

It is a standalone game. But you can incorporate it with Gloom of Kilforth. There are small changes but mostly it is the same game, no big changes!

I've very confused as to how dice work in this game... Once you get to rolling dice it throws me off completely. Also, my copy only came with 6 dies. Perhaps, I have an older or updated version compared to yours? I got mine last month and am trying to follow along. What I am confused about regarding the dice is what justifies how many you use and how many times you can roll? Also, the thing about successes.

The amount of dice is dependent on your stat. For example my Tiger has a 4 on the upper left hand side by the "fight" symbol. If I do a fight test I roll 4 dice looking for 5's and 6's as successes. You then will have other items that affect this amount, and that's the fun of the game! Hope that helps and good luck out there!

@@ExoticLife2 I used the special ability of my deamon giving me +2 to my fight value. Basic game comes with 6 dice I have Gloom of Kilforth and bought the Pimp my shadows to get extra dice!

@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks so much! We actually had this game all set up and got lost in the rulebook. Tomorrow I will watch part two and then we can start playing at home! You've cleared up so many questions. Just wondering though, a few times you use 'jingasa' which means (DEED) sacrifice: prevent the loss of 1 HP. (VEIL): Gain 1 rest AP. Every time you VEIL it you gain 1 HP, is an AP the same as 1 HP? Thanks so much again!

@@Ayphia GREAT question - when you gain health you do NOT gain an AP for that turn. Next turn though that health will provide you with an AP going forward until you loose it again :) Hope that helps!

Hi, I don’t think Plots count as Encounters for the purposes of card effects, so maybe you didn’t have to place that obstacle on the first plot you placed? Also I understand that you don’t have to clear an obstacle to clear a plot, an obstacle only prevents you Confronting an Encounter. Great playthrough, thanks!

Well said! I am thinking you are right on both accounts!! Those small nuances seem to get me in this game. I think the reason the keywords matter on the Plot Cards is because you get to put them in your hand once you deal with them. Great catches! Thanks for watching!

I'm sorry to correct. But the Night card is not saying encounter, so I think it's all the keywords placed. Also an obstacle needs to cleared before you can clear a plot card.

The art in Shadows of Kilforth is *good*, but not *great*, as in Gloom of Kilforth - just not that much details as there used to be - compare that piercing sleet card to Jingasa - hell and heaven, correspondingly

Doesn't Jingasa just replenish an AP and not a Health point? Normally rest allows you to heal 1 health but not gain an AP. So wouldn't using Jingasa on a rest action allow you to also gain an AP? I would think the card only allows you to gain an AP while you rest. So you would use an AP to rest to gain 1 health then use Jingasa to gain an AP.

This is Mike, not Colin, but recovering health in this game (and Gloom) never gets you back the AP tied to that health. So pretty sure Jingasa just gives you a free rest to recover a health.

The Jingasa card says " Rest AP".It doesn't say "Rest or Heal 1" On page 11 of the manual it actually says AP may be increased by use of Abilities which Jingasa is. I believe it's being incorrectly used to heal health.Needs the Dev's to answer that one.

This is Colin, I'd say this is straight forward. You gain a Rest AP and use that to then heal 1 as long as no encounter cards in your location.
