This is my Any% TAS speedrun of Gall Spaceport (9,139 re-records). I only use ammo obtained in the level (I start the level with 1 seeker from the previous level but I never use it). I've been working on this run on and off for months. This was incredibly frustrating to TAS at times. The games hit detection, momentum, and jumping systems are awfully programmed. The most painful part was Boba Fett, simply changing the camera can make a shot not hit his hitbox or make him move in a completely different way, I'm not kidding. For some reason camera angles, or even just pushing an unimportant button on a certain frame can make your shots/jumps miss when they'd normally land on target. It's like everything you do contributes to a random number generator for all of the enemy, hitbox, and jump distance behaviors. I'm extremely happy with how this turned out though, especially the boss fight.
Tricks used:
1.Luck-manipulated long-jumps. Jumping on just the right frame (not always the latest one possible) can make the difference of many feet in distance thanks to the poor programming. The best jump shortcut is at 1:08, it's very hard to do on console.
2.Bypassed the hover platform that leads to the building shutter switch. Jumping the full distance of the gap is a frame perfect trick that requires just the right momentum. Getting back across without the platform is a whole different beast and took a while to TAS optimally.
3.Jet-Pack clipping. This glitch allows me to clip through ceilings and climb vertically at super fast speeds.
4.Skipping the AT-ST fight. Normally you have to beat the AT-ST and then hit a switch that becomes available. Using the jetpack clip I go directly into the 3rd tunnel without having to do the fight.
5.Boba Fett Arena early. Using a jet pack clip I get into the arena area without using the elevator. The fight with Boba Fett doesn't begin until I move over the elevator hole and the elevator reaches the top. That's why I had time to collect extra ammo.
5:37 blows my mind considering my time when I first beat this level as a kid was like 35 minutes or more.
