I’m glad the Artemis/Cheshire stuff doesn’t just have a typical “make up and we’re all good” moment. She still has her own demons and trials to get through and has to go about things her own way while being open to changing. It’s a bit of a compromise + it allows the Harper/Crock family to know where she’s at.

In each case they (rightly) thought they were about to be cancelled. Honestly I respect them for saying fuck it and still going all in. I think that’s a big appeal of the show

I love that they let Superman Cry. The comics don't do a good job highlighting the extended Super family like they do the Bat family. Not just Clark, Louis and Johnathan, but also Connor, Kara and Karen Starr.

Ra's is very long lived and presumably Vandal's oldest ally besides Clarian. I believe the implication is that between season 2 and 3, once Talia's gave birth, Ra's took a "pause" on his role with the light for the sake of raising his current family. For people like Ra's and Vandal, taking 50 years off is nothing to their long term goals. I think he will return to the Light once his grandson grows up enough to take over as the "Demon's Head" and he can simply serve an advisory role to him. Then once his grandson dies, he will take over again, eventually groom a new heir, then rinse and repeat. Even semi-immortal villains need some time in retirement even couple centuries.

The bit with the Kent’s at the farm is beautiful, such a great way to show how much Clark actually learned to appreciate Connor. Love Jade and Artemis their dynamic was always interesting and how their upbringing was shaped by their parents. Lady Shiva is an absolute monster here, I think in the comics the dad was worse. The bit at the end about Rouge’s ass is false, it’s culture war Chud garbage. There’s about a handful of frames in the original show where she had an ass like that. The frame from the new show is literally a wide shot where all the X-Men are tiny and out of shape since the focus of the frame is a giant Sentinel that towers over them all. You can even see the full one in the search reslults.

"It's a mommy mask" Aside from Lian having plastic sais, that is basically the perfect way to get this Chesire to freak at this point. Jade doesn't want her daughter to get dragged down to her level, and if Lian getting dragged into the dark side of the life is bad, then how much worse is Lian actively embracing Jade's life as Cheshire? Still, for as much as Jade regrets and self loathes, she is a FAR more moral person than her comic counterpart. That Cheshire helped set off a tiny man made star in Qurac. Also may have been in the same group that dropped Chemo on Bludhaven when they did that nonsense. So she can take partial credit for at least 2 cites on her tally alongside all the melee and hand to hand bodies.

Shiva is the Queen of Combat. Even Batman struggles fighting her and usually prefers not to. Cassandra was the only chance of beating her because even Shiva is always reluctant to kill her own daughter.

The League of Shadows was always more a group of anti-heroes than straight up villains. Remember that their mission was to rid the world of corruption. The supposedly only killed bad people. Ra's Al Ghul is hundreds of years old and became crazier every time he went into the Lazarus pits. That's how they originally got currupted. Until Batman, no one ever actually stopped any of Ra's plans. In this version, he became a member of the light, because him and Vandel Savage were of like minds, but Vandel doesn't like to share. If you all haven't caught on yet, Vandel Savage was 1 of the original members of the Justice League. He was kicked out when the rest of the heroes realised that he had dreams of glabal domination and was willing to kill anyone and do anything to get it.

I have a feeling that Ra’s is still working with the light. There are multiple tiers to the league of shadows. At least in the comics, the league of shadows are an elite corps out of the greater league of assassins, and Talia runs a spy organization called Leviathan. I have a feeling that Jason and Damien are part of a plot to undermine if not destroy the batfamily like they were originally intended in the comics. Ra’s respects Bruce and sees him as his successor to the league of assassins, but also sees him as his greatest threat and that threat needs to be neutralized. Talia stoops to some pretty low tactics in dealing with the batfamily.

Important to remember that Jade/Cheshire was a younger and less wise woman when she married Will (then Roy) and had Lian; she’s had time to reflect and it likely led to her fear of turning her child into a killer like her. The fear of being like her father as a parent… It’s hard to tell what Ra’s Al Ghul *isn’t* saying, so his motives are unclear. However, what he says at least is true from his perspective and to the letter of the word… As for the Sensei, it feels to me that Lady Shiva’s kind of fanaticism has made him really regret what the League has been creating; the kind of blind *uncompromising* loyalty to the cause.

Ra's used to be head of the League of Assassins(with Sensei being his right-hand) and was part of the Light. He left the light AND The League(of assassins). Now the League is led by Shiva, with Slade as the right hand iirc. Now that Ra's defected, he's just living his life. Naturally, sensei and Talia followed suit.

Here's the thing about Shiva. She doesn't have powers, alien biology, or even any weapons with magic or high technology. She is defined by her martial arts. Fist, foot, and blade. Wonder Woman can outpace, outlast, and overpower Shiva. Ms. Martian can brain blast her before there's a fight, to say nothing of how useless blades are on shapeshifters. Zatana can do all manner of things to stop Shiva. And that's to say nothing of modern warfare's many tools even before supertech or alien tech. Rocket can just sit there tanking kinetic energy until she gets bored and flies away. Bioship could lay down hellfire from high up. But hand to hand or sword to sword against another mortal? The list of people even walking away from that without help is VERY short. One of the few being her own daughter, though that's only if you don't count Orphan's body reading from the comics as elevating her above mere mortal status with how it borders on a superpower and required extensive shaping of her early life to build. Edit: If Shiva DOES try to get revenge on the Bat Family, she should know what will happen. The Light didn't want former members of the council executing the Nuclear Option, so they WILL take action to prevent a current council member, possibly even handing her over to the heroes to prevent wider escalation. Because going after Oracle will have the Bat Family on the warpath, rallying as many heroes as it takes.

I think that (90’s animated) Rogue is in the Hall Of Fame of attractive animated females ever, but Talia al Ghul was maybe intended to be the sexiest fictional character ever! I’ve never seen a less than “holy shit!!” version of her in animated form. (Marion Cottiard in The Dark Knight Rises was laughable).
