Hello, everyone. Sorry for being completely silent for so long. Was playing some games without making videos. So, some time ago a shoot'em up called Devil Blade Reboot was released on steam. It is a very fun game, by the way. Be sure to try it out. At first I wanted to record only the bosses from Reboot and maybe its retro-mode but very soon I decided to do entire Devil Blade series which includes 3 games. Devil Blade made on Dezaemon+ for PS1, Devil Blade 2 (Dezaemon 2, Sega Saturn) and the Reboot. So, expect 3 more videos from me in near future. This one is not a bad game overall but suffers from seemingly common problem for Dezaemon games. Near the end boss battles devolve to random bullet spam without any semblance of timing or pattern. Like the final boss here, for example. I actually had to use entire bomb stock that player can get with one life and still had to repeat this battle many time to actually finish it without getting hit. The patterns in Reboot's retro mode are much better designed and if you really want to play the original - it would be a better choice. Well, enjoy the video. I hope you like it.

Devil Blade Reboot is completely different from the original Devil Blade made with Dezaemon Plus. Of course, including the retro mode. In Japan, the original Devil Blade made with Dezaemon Plus has been considered the best of the many works made with Dezaemon Plus for a quarter century. Devil Blade Reboot was released with that as a reason and selling point. For some reason, it has a completely different content from the original. That's because there are many works made with Dezaemon Plus that are much easier to play, more refreshing, and more complete than Devil Blade, and Devil Blade itself is not particularly good in terms of gameplay or balance, and it is one of the top 10 in terms of difficulty and unreasonableness among the Dezeamon Plus Select 100, which is crowded with very difficult works such as OVER_RUN and "むし~る(Mushiru)". As you say, Dezaemon has some unique features that other shooting games do not have, such as a system in which enemy bullets are fired at random times. However, the original Devil Blade does not harmonize with these, and instead works in a negative direction. When Dezaemon Plus was still in use, there was a trend that shooters should be as difficult as possible, and the original Devil Blade was a complete reflection of that trend. Now that shooters are out of fashion and manufacturers are thinking about lowering the difficulty level significantly in order to increase their fan base, they have completely ignored the original and released the extremely easy Reboot. The work was created with the profits of the industry in mind from start to finish. It is a complete betrayal of the original and the axis is off. The review list for Devil Blade Reboot is full of abstract over-ratings from an account that has only reviewed one game before, so it is suspicious to begin with. The works with Devil Blade in the title, the original, 2, the Famicom version, and Reboot, are all completely inconsistent and different, and I don't think they are great.
Also! Zork Master Geo has an amazing name! Since his gig as an opening-level boss didn't work out for him (...and really, when is that a wise career choice for anyone?) I assume he found his second wind DJ'ing at techno nightclubs.

I like how you alternate "shmup - not shmup - shmup" now. Yeah, I'm onto you! Are you planning on doing any of Strato Fighter, Rezon, Battlantis or Nostradamus in the future? All have very cool boss designs but no HD boss runs yet that I can find, what there is is very blurry! As always, ty for cool games.

4:19 So there's an easy way to win like that... (Also, although it's not so much famous as it is obvious, the boss of stage 3 also has a safe zone.) To begin with, he was a boss character that would make you look foolish if you fought him honestly, and the momentary difficulty of the zone where the walls appear was the highest in the game, and once you get past that he becomes suddenly weaker, making him an enemy with poor game balance, but this flaw further lowers his rating.

you got moon brain and blade factor wrong that stage 2 mini boss and finalboss is titan
@ArekTheDragon3 ай бұрын
That is in Reboot. Moon Brain from original game became a miniboss, final boss there was called "Blade Factor" and there was no Titan at all. Boss names are taken from Shigatake's website.

There are so many changes that this kind of confusion occurs. Although Reboot is called Devil Blade, it is actually a completely different thing. Incidentally, the name Titan is the same as the name submitted for the final boss in the Dezaemon (SFC) sample game. Some of Daioh_Gale's mecha designs were submitted through a public competition, with the player's own machine named "メガ=ルガ" and the boss of Stage 2 named "グストフ".
