You know, the freeze frame at 10:03 makes me realize that white, faintly glowing hair could work well for Bliss. It could even have sparks coming from it which increase in frequency and intensity until she explodes. It doesn't even have to be mentioned by the characters, it could be a nice visual cue as to how she's genetically unstable. And when she controls her powers completely, her hair finally stops glowing and returns to its natural color, which could be black, or brown or anything, it would show how confident this character has become and how much they've grown.

The writers think they're writing a recurring arc with Bliss, but the problem is they have no idea what to do with her except to sell merchandise with her face on it. Shows like Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, and Final Space have an endgame in mind with their recurring stories, but this show is so inconsistent, it has absolutely no goal at all.

Allow me to paraphrase the unofficial Mary Sue/Gary Stu checklist. 1) The character in question is powerful both in skill and mind, and gains new unexplained powers when it's plot-convenient. Bliss is described by the Professor, as the ''perfect little girl'' (and i'm still not getting over that, dammit) and after struggling with her explosive impulses through most of her childhood, she magically overcomes it by the end of the episode 2) Characters who don't like like said character are given an unsympathetic portrayal, and characters who do like her are the characters we're supposed to like. You can tell Gnat would bellittle Bliss and the girls would never take him seriously. 3) Character always comes out on top. Even when captured, or something goes amiss, they still are at the top of the totem pole. Everything worked for Bliss in the climax. She had no issue overcoming her explosion tendency, something convenient happened so that she would be more in control of her powers after struggling for most of her life. 4) Character has no big flaws with their personality, and if so, these flaws are meant to be endearing. Prior to the climax, Bliss' explosions end up doing more harm than good because -of an emotion overload- -the plot demands it- of her anxiety, and one Deus Ex Machina later, she doesn't have any more internal conflicts with her powers. At least for now. Again, i want to like Bliss. She had so much potential, and in the hands of a competent team of writers, she would've been welcomed with open arms, but i'm sorry, this isn't a good introduction to her character.

Damn, Gnat just exposed her. Also I like the patron intro lol. I think this episode is bad for the most part, it's better then the second episode by a country mile. I do admire bliss in this episode and powdered toast man (Ren and Stimpy vibes I see). I still like the Gnat but the beginning was boring as you pointed out, bliss controls her power out of nowhere through crap writing and the girls are assholes in this episode which does hurt it a lot. But if you count the of the powerpuff girls Dick Hardly made, she wouldn't even be the 30th powerpuff girl lol. Overall Rating: 3.5/10

I really appreciating you for reviewing the reboot Powerpuff Girls 2016 series and making me realized that the series lost their edge and wishing Craig McCracken, Lauren Faust and the rest of the crew except Chris Reccardi died in 2019 and possibly fan artists to join the crew we can make a much better PPG series than that stupid reboot. And Bliss, is now my favorite Powerpuff Girl from the reboot in my opinion. I hope CN and HBOMax will get a much better series for this year. Great review, my main Powerpuff man.

and we see another reason this show fails: it falls into the trap of thinking "its funny if everyone's an asshole" and yes that CAN work, but only for short periods and if the characters are just jackasses who reserve no karma for their actions than its just tiring and obnoxious and ultimately leaves the viewer not caring because well, who WANTS to spend too mcuh time with an asshole. Even in the original show when buttercup was an ass she was still clearly in the wrong and also had good qualities, and when the girls DID ruin the city REALLY BADLY they felt remorse about it. Also the gnat's fun, like he's a joke they actually did good with, mianly cause they didn't just repeat the same gag over and over and did variations with him. Also he's like a similar to the amoeba boys but still different.

12:16 how i would have done it is Mih reveals hinsmelf to be him, and than again some sort of power, and then Bliss putts all of her energy into a blast, which her sisters help direct, just to defeat Him. of course they would try all sorts of other things... anyway, after she does this, Bliss has used up all the extra power she once had and is now on the level of the girls (of course still a little more powerful due to her age) 14:32 i like yours better. mine was just appealing more to the Mary Sue thing going on, like if shes gonna be a marry sue let her one flaw go out in a blast, yaknow?

Bliss should have be named Boom just because she can exploded out in the open for being emotional but Button is cuter or Bristle that is a synonym of storm which also makes sense for Bliss when she ends up shocking out in the open it's like she is creating her own electrical storm simple as that.
