Theme song from a CBC show, played by the Toronto band that penned it, at a Canadian Legion hall, somewhere in Ontario. Only thing missing is empty beer bottles and a PA announcement on who won the meat draw. Call it a feeling.

You just like surf music. So does everyone who knows anything. Little known fact: Jimi Hendrix produced a surf music album that wasn't released until long after his death. It's very hard to find, and I have only seen it on cassette tape. It was truly, embarrassingly terrible. That just shows how hard it is to do good surf tunes.
@redacted2275
@redacted2275 2 жыл бұрын
It has that Hank Marvin/The Shadows signature guitar sound that's practically a musical genre on its own, it influenced all UK guitarists from the 60s, it started an entire generation of instrumental rock bands in Japan (together with The Ventures). If you listen to The Shadows' "Apache", "Theme for Young Lovers", "Wonderful Land" you can understand why the band have always said they weren't a surf music band. There's more behind their sound and arrangements.
@redacted2275
@redacted2275 2 жыл бұрын
@@CreekyGuy This song has more of Hank Marvin's influence than The Ventures or the average surf music band... it has that lush arrangement that makes you feel in the middle of an apocalyptic Western.

The theme song is as good as ever, but the show is just too gay for me. I saw Season 1 Ep. 1 and won't put in any spoilers, but if you're even vaguely interested in women, you're out of luck. If the rest of the season is like Ep.1, I am very sad. Dave Foley has always been a favorite (especially, in 'Blast From the Past'), but I have no interest in gay culture immersion. Too bad.

He dragged me to me to KISS in 1975 at a 1500 seat hockey rink in Calgary Front festival he flicked a smoke at the guitarist. 2 songs later Ace stomped his fingers when his hand was on the stage with the classic Kiss Boots.

The first time I heard this song, it was at an upstairs bar on the south side of Queen St. West In TO. (Ultrasound?) Their hair was a little darker, but the sound was the same. The show rocked. I can't remember the name of the cute skinny blond that brought me there to see them. I think that they knew her. It was a looong time ago. (1988? 89?) Great show.
