It's really unfortunate these guys didn't jump into the huge Punk scene in The Bowery NYC in 1977-1981. They would have been gods at CBGB's!
@johnharris66765 жыл бұрын
I agree! You have too remember that there were numerous bands in those days. These bands a following like NY Dolls, The Heartbreakers , Ramones, Wayne County and countless others. But this band would have been a big influence in that era. But what a great tone on his fender strat! This just my humble opinion! Rock Steady People!

KatarnCrusader They should have. I hate it when bands like Big Star have these really stupid reasons why they didn’t get big although they seem to influence quite a few big bands, Big Star at least. I’d love to see a doc on Death. I love “Keep on Knocking”. Obsessed actually. G

Imagine what it would have been like if death was injected into the spirit of 77 back then with the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Dead Boys, and even Sham 69. That would have been so awesome. I think it would have improved punk rock in a way.

Thanks man! I was lucky enough to hear Death in the early 80's. Yeah, they had an influence, even if it was small in comparison the bands you mentioned. I wasn't into those bands but I was into Death!

@Slammerworm13 жыл бұрын
@@MarcelinhoTheRock The Sex Pistols were actually a very good band musically; the movement in England was so sudden that a lot of bands formed quickly and had little time to play live and practice, so many of them weren't up the the Pistols' standard (they had been together for at least 6 months before any other English punk bands formed). For the first year or so of British punk, the Pistols were the only UK band who could hold a candle to the American bands, who had been at it for a year or so before them.

Yes lol the story is that they were practicing as teens and they were being so loud that their neighbors kept knocking on the door to tell them to turn it down and they told them to "keep on knocking" in reference to them not turning it down as they were trying to come up with a new idea for a song.

It really depends on the band, it's not what mattered in punk but there were sum bands that were as sharp as a razor. As for everyone else, I believe it also has to do with mass beer consumption and other party treats. No one parties like punx

I feel the opposite. With a lot of punk and post punk groups such as Ty Segall, Jay Reatard and Thee Oh Sees I can't understand a majority of the lyrics... its the energy you feel when yelling thats so important to this genre... not what is being said. This is hard rock, not folk-country.
