Considering Factions and Lucky Block series, it seems Ssundee just love the whole pay to win and gacha/random loot both as a way to make money and a way to play. It's probably one of the biggest flaw I notice he has as a KZbinr, that and also the whole situation where he spend a bit too little time with his family leading to a some sort of hiatus 6 years ago until he get his life resolved and back together. At the very least, as far as I'm aware of he hasn't been a part of something worse.... such as y'know... pdf.

Ex FadeCloud admin/player. Server is still P2W and surprised how they haven't caught attention of the EULA. I don't think the primary IP was ever banned for the server. The server still has monthly crates with slim chances to obtain top tier items. Ranks are individual to each server, and previous cosmetic ranks (That were upwards of $75) were removed in favor for crates that give you those cosmetics. Players weren't reimbursed for purchasing those cosmetic ranks either. They possibly get behind the EULA by only having "Clouds" on their buycraft, with players purchasing items/ranks through those clouds. Sub-Servers reset multiple times a year, making those purchases useless in months time. Seeing players drop $100's of dollars on clouds for monthly crates when a sub-server resets is not a rare occurrence either.

Used to play on fadecloud, I got bee rank through a crate (not sure which one, I forgot, couldve been a daily or a keyall giveaway) and I didn't get the rank at all?!!?!? I told a moderator and they ended up granting me the rank. Could've been a bug, or they just didn't program it in lol.

as far as im aware, purple prision is most likely blacklisted but its still up as they have tons of proxies. they spoof their players a LOT so even though it says 400+ online its usally closer to 60-70 and the server has essentially halfed in size every year or every time they reset

TheArchon was one of the only factions servers that I still played, Saico was another, but I stopped playing Saico a year ago since it got boring and my base was constantly being raided (a little hard to keep up with as a solo fac and with other things to do like school). TheArchon was actually a really fun server, and I also played their Skyblock and Prison gamemodes regularly. Sad to see it get merged with another server that didn't want to continue those modes.

@@TheRealPotato the one we used i don't think anyone outside of our group knew about we found it by accident I carnt remember exactly how it was done but it was possible due to a inventory save bug during restarts as when there server was about 30 seconds off of a restart u would move the items u wanted to dupe eatber in or out your time vault I carnt remember which and there must of been a delay on the save for both as when u loged back in it would be in both your inv and your vault only worked on specific items thiw as remember trying with cash notes and they wasn't redeemable but I remember stuff like enyrams armer and spawners did work with it thow we just make sure not to abuse to not draw attention to us or the exploit remember we use to get like 10 legendary engrama each every jow and then and have lil bets who would pull the best stuff from them and winner would keep all items

One thing I will say we did dupe a hell of alpt of was stuff like obsidian for base building and other construction stuff as it isn't exactly something that's to game braking or noticeable as not exactly unusual for a faction to have alot of it espeshky if constructing a large base

It's a lot more complicated then that, back then Mojang wanted these servers to remove ALL pay to win mechanics (I believe, it's hard to find info about this stuff now), which as the guy in keemstars video said, would have made them unable to operate (which is also true). That being said, they probably didnt need as much pay to win stuff, and could have done without the gambling

@@TheMisterEpic I ran p2w hcf servers during this time, We had to comply with the EULA, people heavily exaggerated since it affected their bottom line, for us, we removed crates (took about 20 minutes) and then we changed the buycraft to remove all similar things we judged as p2w, I can imagine for some servers like kitpvp you needed to remove items, pots etc that were only accessible through buycraft / p2w mechanics, but there's no shot it took them more than a day unless they're just bad devs...

I played Gotpvp a lot in the early 2010's and spent a regrettable ammount of money on the server for ranks and such at the time. Started around 2014 and stopped playing on there for good around the same time Saito announced they were stepping away from the site and that a new owner would take over. I remember thinking they seemed really tired at the time, especially with all the EULA stuff going on. Had a lot of good memories from the Survival and GTA servers, and was genuinely sad to hear they had shut down when I tried to rejoin for a nostalgia trip.

Damn the Archon and Cosmic were my childhood. I was forced to be a F2P player because I didn't want to spend money on servers that probably wouldn't even be up in 10 years (this was 2014-2017) and was basically forced to quit when both servers implemented crate keys since it was borderline impossible to keep up if you weren't spending moneyy. F2P playstyle lowkey saved me but a lot of my friends that I met playing on those servers weren't as lucky. A lot are are addicted to gacha games, one blew his tuition money on the stock market, and another is literally a drug addict, and the worst thing is that their parents either have no idea that their children are crippling gambling addicts or don't know how they got the addiction. I've seen first-hand why countries like Belgium ban gambling in games that children and teens play like CS cases and FIFA card packs. Both Archon and Cosmic deserve gigantic class-action lawsuits on their heads.

God, I was a staff member on GotPvP during the EULA BS. It was extremely corrupt in the months prior, with some of the disgruntled staff members even adding in "illegal" minecraft tools (Diamond axes, swords + player heads) which destroyed the economy and caused so much internal chaos.

Forge used to allow you to bypass the blacklist but in 2022 they patched that out. To be honest, I'd rather not have Mojang add DRM like this. I think mod loaders shouldn't count disabling the blacklist as a bug but a feature. The main reason why? I'm not against hating on pay to win, but the recent additions to controlling CONTENT, specifically firearm-related weapons, is why i think mod loaders should reconsider allowing Mojang's blacklist to function. Yes I am advocating for Forge and Fabric to disable the blacklist. Forge actually did until they patched it because they considered it a bug.

As someone who played the Archon in Rushers fac, i remember this time vividly. He also went the route of giving players flares when they donated and they can only open them in the warzone so ppl had a "chance" to get them. They dropped in like 2 seconds so it was practically impossible for anyone to contest. I'd have to argue tho that it was the p2w that kept the server alive. Almost everyone had a rank and they had kits that gave diamond armor and this is what drove pvp, raiding, etc... Otherwise it would have been gear fear and no one would have done anything. Also, idk if epic will see this but pls update ur civilization server. I played for a bit and love the og feeling but man is it missing so many features. I understand its a beta but half the plugins are still unedited as if you just clicked install and left it. The core is useless, skills are basically useless (better off with mcmmo imo), and the civs are unbalanced heavily. Pls take 20 mins to make some fixes and the server would have so much smoother of an experience.

Honestly as a person who spent time on gotpvp I will say their server was great the server was able to handle huge cannons and huge bases for factions also Ive never spent money but I got the 3rd best rank by just doing raids. Also i was top 5 almost all the seasons without paying anything so it was duable

A few years ago The Archon sponsored one of Dream's Minecraft Manhunt videos. I had never heard of the server up until then but gave it a try cause they were giving out free rank upgrades as part of the sponsorship. Played for a bit and quickly learned about all the pay to win stuff. Never played on it again.

I can't stand pay to win mechanics in games, but what Mojang has done with this braindead EULA isn't the right approach either. Strongarm tactics just create trench warfare and the landscape nowadays is just as bad as it was back then. So all of that nonsense has done fuck all to stop kids from getting exploited for their parents credit cards. Mojang used to have a pretty good reputation, but they are doing a lot to ruin that. These days I wouldn't rank them above say Facepunch or WUBE and I used to be a big fan.

Yet again another instance that makes Mojang the bad guy where they 1000% deserve it. I tried to contact Mojang's customer service for a blacklist issue where there was no warning, and it took I forget how many emails before they would even acknowledge why there was a blacklist, and absolutely no recourse. To say their customer service is dogs*it would be doing Mojang a favor, I have NEVER seen worse customer service in email responses ever, and as someone who has been an email customer service agent for over 12 years now even the worst trainees I had ever seen that never got better were better. The craziest thing was Mojang telling me in short "Do what you want, we don't go looking unless the server is reported" which says "a server can exist forever provided no one turns you in". The worst thing is that they have the power regardless of where the server is hosted, I don't see how it's fair that they have that much reach. There was some talk of having to state that you were a third party server not affiliated with Mojang. If that comes to light, I plan on doing something bad, and if mojang tries to shut me down I'll raise so much hell Microsoft will have to send a hit-squad after me. But in all seriousness, if they shut down a third party server I'd ask them at what point was my server affiliated with Mojang, either I am affiliated and you have power or I'm not, and you don't mess with me unless you want me to use that against you, and boy would I.
