While you are at it why not read about Ghensis Khan and see what sort of thing he and his people got up to. Thing is, nobody is squeaky clean on anything that looks like colonial conquest, in the old days they just didn't colonise places they slaughtered all the residents and established their own civilisation, again based on Khan's conquests, how many times were entire cities put to the sword, perhaps the Turkish caliphate could also be studied as to how they dealt with their colonies.
