Shakamon VS Diaboromon!! | Digimon Card Game: EX6 Infernal Ascension Riot (ROUND 3)

This is Round 3 of the Infernal Ascension Riot, a tournament featuring 8 decks from the 6th theme booster of the Digimon Card Game: Infernal Ascension. The next two decks to clash are Shakamon and Diaboromon. The mainly Yellow (with some rainbow) Shakamon deck revolves around a control and outlast pacifism strategy that specialises in inflicting Security Attack - to the entire field, with offensive potential wrought by Shaka's ability to convert that - to +. The deck used in this video is supplemented with a Purple Ukkomon engine to make up for the deck's lack of draw sources, which are vital as the deck burns through the hand easily with DigiXros. On the other hand, the Diaboromon deck finally returns since BT5, powered up with insane token generating potential plus the all-roundedness of giving them both Jamming and Blocker. Will the embodiment of enlightenment be able to outlast the unknown virus' swarm?

THIS TOOK A WHILE. And it was a rather annoying matchup to deal with. As usual, I was trying to get a match that would showcase the strengths of both deck's bosses, but Diaboromon's new easy access to De-Digivolve (1) almost always immediately negates Shaka's [End of Opp Turn] removal , simultaneously negating the epic SA-4 into SA+4 shenanigans that are supposed to happen the next turn, while (2) completely bypassing Shaka's [All Turns] recovery effect when deleted / bounced. So while it may not be the most realistic turn of events, I ended up refilming matches until I got what you see in this video. I hope yall enjoy it! In any case, here's to hoping and praying that the filming for the rest of this tournament goes smoothly.

Lore: Grunting in pain, ChoHakkaimon, Gokuwmon, and Sagomon were knocked back. An army of copied Diaboromon swarmed them, but were instantly cut down by Valkyrimon. She swooped downwards, and smirked slightly as she saw that there were only 3 Diaboromon left. "Looks like you're running low on copies!" Swinging her sword, she cut down another charging Diaboromon down. "Looks like there's only 2 of you left!" The Diaboromon then seemed to smirk at that, and she heard him speak. From behind her. "There's still one more of me...right here!" Looking behind her, she saw another copy Diaboromon's chest glowing with orange light. "Catastrophe Cannon!" Firing shots at her, she was knocked back and barraged by energy balls, causing a smoke cloud that Sanzomon fell out of. Catching herself in midair, she floaded downwards and mentally swore as she saw that Diaboromon was copying himself relentlessly. The Original Diaboromon floated downwards, one of his clones following him. "Why don't I show you what you are truly up against." Glowing with light, the countless clones merged together into a giant egg. Bursting from the egg was the massive scorpion tailed ant, Armageddamon. Looking down at their group hollowly, Sanzomon stepped backwards in fear, as she saw Armageddamon charging a powerful blast in it's maw. "Ultimate Fla-" "Mantra of Regret!" A furious shockwave sent another Armageddamon flying towards the second, slamming together and reverting into a mess of Diaboromon clones. Floating from the mountainous horizon was the massive form of Shakamon. "I may not condone violence, but you are merely copies that will not see redemption if your true self does not." His eyes regretful, Shakamon sent his orbs flying towards the mess of copies, slamming into them and destroying them. Some Copies sent more shots towards Shakamon, but blasts from the group destroyed the attacks or the copies firing them. Growling in rage, Diaboromon along with some of his clones flew towards the Sacred Peaks. "Oh you're running now cowards! Let me at em!" Cho-Hakkaimon stepped forwards, but tripped over her feet and fell to the ground. "As much as I would like to, we cannot, you are all too weakened, and I as well." Floating closer, they could see that Shakamon was covered in burns and wounds. "We must retreat." Sagomon turned around to protest, but nearly fell down, being caught by Gokuwmon. "No...we can still fight..." "Sagomon, you can barely stand, there is no way you could battle again for a while." Sanzomon sighed and looked towards the Sacred Peaks. "Sadly, this is true. Thankfully, It seems that Mastemon is being sent to the Sacred Peaks as well, and Xiangpengmon is coming as well." Shakamon then looked over the mountain peaks, and offered an orb for the group to ride on. "It is in our best interests to arrive there quickly so they can mobilize their forces together, and war them of Diaboromon." Nodding, the group leapt onto an orb as Shakamon flew over to the mountain peaks, and If one looked closely, you could see flashes of Blue-Pink light and streams of water over the horizon...

When Shakamon came into play I got OG Power Ranger vibes, and that film grain was *chef’s kiss* the cherry on top of the sundae. Wow, this was an insane match. The Shakamon deck is powerful but yeah, Diaboromon just overwhelms. I think, when I build Shakamon, I’d go for the red egg so I can use bt14 koro, Muchomon and Crimson blaze.

Shakamon seems really fun and I really like the reference of those cards (watched the very old journey to the west series as a kid). I also know that it is sadly not the best deck but your video showed its full potential, so really nice matchup overral and really good video pls keep it up!!!

Super cool match. While as usual I want to make clear that your videos are worth the wait, I do also hope the remaining matches don’t give you nearly as much trouble as the last two seemed too. And while I’m throwing out hopes, here’s hoping Shakamon can get another wave of support in the future to make it a bit more playable than it is right now. Maybe the deck can get played in Liberator and Shakamon will get a Tamer of his own. One would probably be appreciated given how the deck’s currently focused on a bunch of 2-card 5 drops and a 5-card 7 drop.

You were DEARLY missed Rust, holy moly how this matchup turned out. Shaka's team is insanely annoying to deal with, with them applying on everyone, it makes the opponent's Digimon having a hard time to deal damage to security, while also having a powerful counter via Shaka's positive converter and removal. Diaboro on the other hand, HOLY HELL you weren't kidding when you said he was fast and vast. The amount of tokens generated within a single turn was absolutely jaw-dropping. I'm sorry lemme just play 6 DIABOROMON TOKENS??! Definitely nuts for sure, but hey, it's Diaboro we're talking. Not to mention the cheap body plays and giga bodies the deck can generate within a single or 2 turns is also something to look out for. I can't wait to see what wifey Mirei and her EX6 allies have to show against the mighty Phoenix of the Treacherous Digital Sea, Xiangpengmon.

10:14 - You made an error here. Kurisarimons When Digivolving/On Play is not optional. It is not a "you may". You should have deleted Tapirmon, triggering the on deletes of Tapirmon and Demimeramon, giving Shakamon quite a lot more drawing.
