Hey Kevin, my name is Austin McCardie. If you look in the credits I am the “Cinematographer” of the film. This was the first “feature film “I was ever asked to do. I had no experience. I wasn’t paid. And it was the best experience I could have asked for. But in reality... THANK YOU FOR ROASTING THIS PROJECT. If ever there was a “cringeworthy” film in need of roasting... it would be Shake Off The World. 😂 Love yah my dude!

Jake Szetela we shot with the original Black Magic Cinema Camera 2.5K... (yes, you hear right) Black magic has come a long ways in their camera design and performance that’s for sure, but back then... Whew it was a doozy of a camera. There were some days where the camera wouldn’t even turn on and I would have to baby the thing for 20 minutes for it to even allow us to get shot. 😂

Say Goodnight Kevin Hey man! Trust me, I’ve been a big fan for the past 3 years... And I’m so happy you found this movie. As to what I’ve been working on recently, My brothers and I (yes, I own a studio with my two younger brothers who also coincidentally worked on Shake off the World) have gotten heavily into the commercial realm. We’ve been doing several national sponsor as well as more short film/commercial narrative then we have feature films. (Thank god) kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4TYammpbJZrr8k - (demo) kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5mkloKajsp7irs - (lastest spot) Again, thank you for the roast! Absolutely loved it! Best thing in 2019 so far... 🔥👊🏼

Dude, Kevin, my name’s Brice Anthony Heller, I played the head bully Camden (I don’t think my name was ever even said but I’m the one that says the incredibly intimidating line “watch it dumby” )in this movie. Loved this review man 😂 it deserves everything you said about it, and more. Although this movie wasn’t good by any means, I’m happy I did it early on in my career. Appreciate you doing this review, and like you said completing a movie is a feat on its own so applause there; but it’s not enough just to throw something together. Great review, awesome channel. You’re hilarious, keep it up man.

What baffles me about American football is how geared up they all are in padded safety equipment and how easily they seem to get hurt... I'm from New Zealand where rugby is a huge thing (understatement) and they charge around in just shorts and t-shirts with no qualms at all

I knew that we should have replaced turf with beds of needles, with ceilings made of hanging swords, and the referee was a psychotic axe murderer... that way, no one gets hurt. The more dangerous = the more safe. Put every dangerous thing humanly possible in the football fields; that will make football the safest sport ever!
@Ayverie46 жыл бұрын
I don't know if New Zealanders are somehow magically immune but concussions are a huge problem in football. From young teenagers sustaining permanent brain damage from a hit to career players slowly losing their minds due to years of "micro- concussions".

You know I definitely agree that pressuring someone to stay in a relationship with you because it'll make you happy isn't a good thing. On the other hand, breaking off your engagement because "My dad told me to put more focus into studying for college and you don't play football anymore sooooo imma dump you" is pretty terrible in and of itself. I think there's enough stupid for everyone here.

3:46 The concept of that statue wanting to play football is more interesting than the actual storyline. 5:43 "Guys, can you believe it? Football season starts this Friday." Thanks, Exposition Guy. No one will remember your name. 6:24 Unenthusiastic inspiration at 100% 7:39 "Excuse me, real high-schooler trying to get to my locker" You said that and I realized that the girl looked like a 12-year-old compared to these 25-or-more-year-olds 8:02 Is it just me or is she too pretty to be in a Christian movie this bad? 8:22 Did anyone else see that actor's face after the guy yelled "Food Fight!"? I don't know what he was going for. 9:31 Why does that look like dollar-store Ryan Reynolds 10:18 "Football's not a sissy game," he says with the most dispassionate voice imaginable, after someone has ended up in the hospital because of it. 12:59 Thanks, Kevin, now you've left me all wanting and unsatisfied. 12:40 "All that matters is that you're loved. Are you loved, son?" I don't know, _Dad_ , why don't you tell me? 15:25 "Why don't you come play with us? Come live with me." I'm sorry, dude bro guy, but I don't feel that way about you. Just remember... there's plenty of roommates in the sea 15:44 "Hey, watch it, dummy." An unforgivable insult. This is how we identify a true scumbag, my friends. 15:57 Did... did they just teleport? 17:54 This kid is gonna be the president or something, I can tell. 18:24 "Hey, we're the chess club" Kevin, you're a gem, and your tone when you said this line was hilarious. 19:56 "I think faith is like a spice rack." This metaphor was borne from desperation, sleep-deprivation, and caffeine overdoses. 20:10 This dude just stared into my soul... I don't want to know what he found there 20:50 "And when we're going into a tragedy, like a death in the family, we forget about the spices that are on the rack. Let us pray." These words changed my life. Thankyou, Kevin. Your review just saved my soul. 21:45 "What I would normally say is 'That's future me's problem'." Years later, she cursed herself for this ill-advised line of thinking. But it was too late. The loan sharks were already knocking down her door. 22:41 "I'm very passionate about this guy I don't know anything about." Why, Kevin, am I sensing a romance blooming? 23:00 "These... are incredible," she says, looking like she's about to spit that fudge onto his mom's shoes. 24:08 "Dude", "bro", "guys"; this is the most heterosexual man in the world 26:07 At this point, this guy is my favorite character. Apart from the dad, of course. 26:24 "So finally Austin becomes a Christian. Gooooood." What was this tone 27:26 Is it just me or does her voice not really sync up well with the music? Like it's not strong enough. 27:42 "Amaaaaaaay..." "..." "..." "...zing grace" this pause was necessary 28:31 This is really catchy and well-sung and I'm actually kind of impressed. 28:48 **Chest-slap with oddly sexual undertones** Yes, I did re-watch this whole review just to make comments and add time-slots... or should I say... thyme-slots? I'm hilarious

Still confused how a muscular jock could get bullied by some lanky kids. Like what? It would have been a more interesting story arch if the lead changed his character when he switched schools. Like he reinvents himself and becomes a bully to earn respect. Then his girlfriend dumps him cause he changed, he falls away from his faith, yada yada yada. Finally he finds redemption after he makes a costly mistake and realizes the person he's become. Yeah it would be cheesy and cookie-cutter but we would actually see some character development and a coherent storyline. This movies ends with austin being the same person and in the same position he was in at the beginning of the movie. Like someone else said, there was no plot in this movie and sadly no purpose either. Also, did anyone catch the sport they quickly mentioned during the film? Couldn't quite catch it.

Low budget is a flimsy shield at best. Like Kevin said a good script can do wonders for a film. I think it’s funny they use football as a draw then don’t go through with it because at the end of the day no one who came for the football is sitting through the movie the moment football isn’t happening anymore. Rather deceptive for a Christian film.
