Slept on the ground for the weekend and didn't want to die ... that bodes well for our end-to-end Long Trail hike coming up in August!

Is Korra joining you for the entire LT trip?
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
She'll be with me for the first leg of the trip at least ... there are a few super sketchy sections near Camels Hump and Mt. Mansfield that I'm not entirely sure how she'd do without the help of trusted companions like the guys, but by that point of the adventure I'll be solo.

That slow motion and the sound when you put that shoe back on! That was excellent! Hahahaha I cringed and laughed at the same time.

Was supposed to do some hiking with my son this weekend in Shenandoah national park but hurricane Ian put a stop to that, so catching up and binge watching the ADK woods walker gang.

I haven't done Cliff yet. When I did Marshall, I just followed the stream up and down. I only left the stream bed when there were too high waterfalls. Luckily the water level was low enough to do that.

Nice video! Still impressed that Dan is double and triple hiking peaks. Did you have to make reservations for parking at Upper Works?
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
No reservations needed for parking outside of the AMR property as of today.
@firemarshaldil2 жыл бұрын
Hey, when you were on top of marshal was that northbound trail there too? I see it on some maps but not others.
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yup - the junction is about 200' from the summit, and will take you down Indian Pass and over by the airplane wreckage.
@firemarshaldil2 жыл бұрын
@@JayMorrisonOutdoors that's where I'm hiking this weekend, camping in the same area as you guys did. Mainly to see the wreckage! Lol

@@JayMorrisonOutdoors also where exactly did you park? At the loj?

What peak is gonna be your 46th?
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Dix is our finishing peak, and we're planning on doing that the first week of October this year.
@rowanmulvey86322 жыл бұрын
Dix in the beginning of October will be great! No bugs
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Exactly!! Plus, I can't think of a better way to start our 4th annual #hikeOctober fundraising event for the Hike for Mental Health organization than to finish a great challenge like the ADK46ers!

Dan is a smart man, however, I enjoyed hiking Marshall both times that I did it. John, The Bridge Destroyer, is a champ for taking on the 6 that he's done so far. That leaves the "easier" hikes peaks for when he finishes. Congrats to you and Mark on getting even closer and to Korra on her first 2 peaks. You're lucky she was too tired to murder you at night...lol
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
LOL all facts! Korra's been tired most of the week, so I guess we know how to truly tired a Husky out now ;)

It's great to see you dudes out on the trail again. Just remember, duct tape works wonders on holes in pants. Sorry about you losing your shoes in the mud. I have done that in snow. Ouch!
@JayMorrisonOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yea, duct tape works wonders for a lot of trail repairs ;) Funny enough, the only other time I really "lost" a shoe was in 2019 when Mark and I hiked Redfield LOL

Was it hard to find a campsite near Flowed Lands because it was crowded or just that you needed a bigger site?
@markjackson5552 жыл бұрын
It was for several reasons. One, was there was quite a few people. Two, was that no camping was allowed near leantos so we had to find spots for tents/hammocks only. Three, was that apparently several of the old sites are now marked as no camping to help the area recover. Lastly, we did need a spot to fit 4 setups.
