It's the ultimate city bike. Perfect in Chicago, out here in California it's more of a toy than a legit all arounder like it was in Chicago. Too much highway riding out here. The 797 is a banger in tight quarters but for doing miles... not so much. It's 10/10 gorgeous though and mine gets compliments constantly and it's near stock.

I bought a Dec 17 797 last summer as my first bike. I passed my full test on a MT07, just wanted something different. It’s a nice bike, the power is linear and not scary at all. Getting it into neutral was a pain until about the 1600 mile mark and then it’s fine. What I like is the accessory catalog, especially the Rizoma products, you can change loads on it. To be honest, it’s a weekend bike for me, if I was commuting, I’d get the MT07.

Ok the no fuel gauge is a legitimate gripe but you don’t need a gear indicator. Between the tach, the engine sound, the seat of the pants feel of the engine and how it’s responding to throttle input, you can gauge if you’re in the right gear or not.

Italian motorcycles are great fun, but they will cost exponentially more to own than a Japanese bike.

@deeman15 жыл бұрын
@@BalazsNyitray well i just heard the price in the vid. I don´t know which additional fees and prices come on top in america. Here it is selling after the price on the market- and thats it.The monster here in germany is seriously about 14 up to 16 k. new. But it could be, that they are cheaper to come into the us-market. The hardest part is the service and the support at branches (?)- Händler. Thats why mv agusta had such big problems.
@BalazsNyitray5 жыл бұрын
Deeman the us prices never include taxes, because that changes from state to state. I highly doubt that any ducati would be pricier in germany before taxes. It can be that you have high taxes there - fear not, here in hungary the sales taxes are one of the highest in the world:)

Had a Ducati, it was flawless, don’t believe people who say the new ones aren’t reliable. As reliable as any other bike on the market.
@AT2Productions5 жыл бұрын
That “reliability” issue is a myth due to the 2006 models and older having a shorter recommended cycle for valve inspections and timing belt changes. Especially over the past 10yrs or so those intervals have been stretched to match their competitors. I personally have a 2005 Monster 620, and it’s been rock solid.

@@AT2Productions So the youtube videos showing electronic problems with brand new Ducati's are all fake...OK
@AT2Productions5 жыл бұрын
@@Agwings1960 That's a lovely leap you took there. Did I say that there were zero problems at all? Tell me, where was that said? What you failed to comprehend is that the metrics used to try to knock Ducati's reliability is due to time at the mechanic. Tell me, on average how many Ducati owners do their own maintenance beyond chain cleaning? Oh, wait, you actually don't give a shit about what I've already said. You're just hating on a brand because of your own perception.
@Agwings19605 жыл бұрын
@@AT2Productions You're the one making some assumptions my friend. Ive been an avid motorcyclist since the late 60's, and Ducati makes some of the best looking motorcycles in the world, always wanted one, but they are usually high on the list of unreliable machines. The current number one is Can Am, according to what Ive seen. Im not hating on anything, just stating what Ive read on the motorcycle forums and consumer reports.

First, you are riding this bike like a Japanese bike which,does not work , second ,if you want to test a bike ,dont do it on straight roads, take it on the twisties and you will know what a monster is all about . A Ducati likes to be ridden at high revs , and when you slow it down you go down the gears ... what is it with Americans and having to know what gear you are in ? ... the sound of the engine will tell you weather you should be up or down a gear . The fuel gauge has always been lacking for some unknown reason , most Ducati riders put the odometer back to zero when we fill it and refill at 200 km .

Bernd DasBrot remove your blinders. The FZ has been out since late 2014, and since then every bike has been chasing it’s value/performance. No one has caught it yet. I suspect Yamaha will with the 2021 model. The FZ is made in Japan. The Ducrappi? Thailand? Owned by Volkswagen. 😂
